I've never watched Startrek Enterprise before, but I realised the other day that at some point (likely several years ago) I bought the first 3 seasons on DVD. I started watching some today.

Does anyone else find it weird that Enterprise was part of an Earth collaboration, Starfleet, etc. And yet. the opening theme only shows American achievements in flight and space travel? Why not stick some Russian, Japanese, British etc. achievements in there? It's so very small-minded given what Startrek is all about. *sigh*

Anyhoo, the theme song is stupidly catchy. Might see if it's available to download on iTunes or something. I'm liking the slightly stuffy security guy and the medical officer. It's a nice cross of new and original startrek series so far, but I bet the die-hard fans struggled with it being a little inconsistent with original trek. Luckily I'm a fan, not a die-hard fan. Ha!

[livejournal.com profile] mayblossom pointed out THIS, article in which Colm Meany talks a little about the American version of Life on Mars. He doesn't give away much, but what also interested me is that he mentions the writer's strikes and says that the "Screen Actors Guild" is also planning a strike. Huh.

I still don't quite understand why they're remaking LoM. I suppose if it's set in America there's quite a lot of differences there to play on, but I wish more British TV shows would get picked up by the commercial stations here and in America. They're great! :)

Anyway, I'll just sit back and see. I bet the American version is the one that makes it to our commercial stations too.

Certainly worth a giggle! Ganked from the SVS Spam thread. A dramatic reading of a break-up letter Don't read the letter, just wait for the guy to read it to you. It's funnier that way.

Oooh almost time to renew the LJ subscription. And to ask that age old question of 100 icon spaces:

To renew or not to renew, that is the question...

Um, I hope the general spam I'm posting lately doesn't bother anyone. I do this when I'm a little stressed. It's soothing for some reason. :P

Yesterday I slept to 12:00, yeah how lazy is that? Then went to the shops to do groceries. Got lunch and a haircut first though.

Haircuts are fun for me. You see, a trim takes all of about 5 minutes and that's when they are taking their time and usually I get ladies that touch my hair and say "OMG, it's baby-fine!" then back peddle because they think they may have offended me. Which, sure whatever.

Anyway this time I got this rather handsome asian guy cutting my hair and he spent the whole time muttering "so fine!" under his breath. I'm not sure what it says about me, but I was very happy to imagine he wasn't talking about my hair! *grins* He really was a looker!

Then today I had lunch at Dee Why with Yokiem, Mcalex22 and Derry667...yammering away as per usual. Greatly fun and the surf was really pretty to watch today. :)

Oh and by the by The White Moose won Best Comedy for Round 31 of Sunnydale Stories. I've added the award to The Fridge Door *bounces*

Vidding is kinda evil and kinda sexy - like Evil!Sam.
Hence the icon.

It's like this slightly highly addictive creative process, that sucks time and energy and valuable sleep (because I seem to be up until 3am getting that scene just right)and yet there's not much feedback for it. It's really just an evil yet enjoyable process. And I thought I had it bad when I was using WMM, but now I have Vegas it just takes me ten times longer to make a vid, because I keep thinking that I have the means to make it perfect when before I would have settled for "good enough."

Also, I can get 16 comments for a 100 word drabble. I get over 200 hits and downloads of a vid and hardly any comments. It's slightly disconcerting and I wonder if this is just the plight of vidders, or are my vids needing a lot of improvement. The plight, oh my...that sounds whiny! I don't mean it that way. :P

I do wish people would give con crit, but then I wish that for my fic too and it never happens there either.

Oh well, I think my vidding muse has taken a holiday at present - or I should say my vidding muse is still throwing ideas at me, but my will to vid is on the decline. Eh, it always comes back.

I started vidding Madonna's - Die another day. Next day, Yokiem's points me to MM's Heroes vid to the same song and a few days later someone posted a SPN vid and just the other day a CSI one -- all to the same song. *facepalm* Oh I am sooo unoriginal. I'm not watching them until I'm finished damnit.

*peers at her half-finished SPN vid*

A question and poll for any Supernatural fans passing through.

The psychics.
Expandpossibly spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen early S2 stuff I guess. If you don't know what I mean by psychics, then don't click. Do I still need to LJ cut early S2 stuff? )

Just interested, so discuss all you like. Chat amongst yourselves in the comments. Or just fill out the poll. :)

Holy water. Needed to know about that for a fic.

Once blessed, more ordinary water can be added to the supply of holy water, and the entire quantity of water remains blessed provided that the amount added is less than the amount of water that was there.
That's kinda cute and I think it answers one of my questions, because if I have them bless the water in a fountain, which is continually moving, the rate of water moving into and out of the fountain will be fairly steady, so it'll likely remain blessed. Yay!

I love how you can look up one thing on Wiki and end up following links for an hour.

Yes I'm odd.

Goes back to fic ponderings in the background. Not that I'm writing, just pondering. :)

Where did today go? Honestly, I even got an extra hour, because of daylight savings, and I still didn't get anything done. One minute it was noon, the next it was 4pm and I don't honestly know what I did in between. *spooky* o_O

I think I'll try to write some thesis bits later tonight, because this weekend has been a bust in that respect completely. Why am I telling you this... guilty motivation. I have to do it now. *cheesy grin*

___

Hee! I love this icon! Beckett and his Exorcist comments over Rodney. Ah, that was a good episode. :)

Me. And I just turned on the TV. I don't know if this is an Australian phenomenon, but they have these late night quiz shows where you can ring in and win cash. Yhe presenters are often washed-up Big Brother stars and they are just awful to watch.

Anyway, tonight on this one show, the same quiz has been going since about midnight (no I have't been watching it since then) and it is to name famous John's. Which makes me giggle anyway. I want them to start naming porn stars and I keep wanting someone to name John Winchester and John Sheppard, but anyway...

The reason I'm really giggling is that no one is calling. They have even promised $50 to anyone that calls, and the ditzy presenter lady is just standing there going "come on people, ring up and name some famous John's" and then falling quiet. *close up of woman's face* :P 'tis funny, but it's possibly because it's after 1am and I want to sleep and just can't seem to.

God these shows are lame. What ever happened to all the late-night sci fi? I miss the old startrek re-runs.

Last night I was doing crazy-assed pirouettes, bopping about the house about as gracefully as an elephant after watching the ballet. Kinda dangerous and goofy, but managed not to break anything. Heh, good thing I live alone right. Though I did dance around my mother before she left too and she had a good giggle.

Just now, I was listening to the SPN soundtrack thingy someone gave me and on comes Blue Oyster Cult - (Don't fear) The Reaper. Who was just head banging along to the mad guitar riffs and playing air guitar? Me, that's who.

*Looks around at currently empty office and grins*
Probably shouldn't have had that second coffee. :P

I wanna go to the ballet again. So pretty.

On an annoying note, my computer just shut down the file I was working on Poof! Gone! Damn didn't save changes or anything. So I just spent another fifteen minutes rewriting the stuff it took me half an hour to write the first time. I'm sure I saved it too, but it's gone. So weird. No warning just bye bye file - shut down. *grumbles*

I'm starting to think late-night TV is far more interesting than prime time. The insomnia will pass though...it had better.
