Alien Abduction Blues by Silver Pard

Summary: Mycroft is abducted by aliens. It's quite possibly the worst thing that's ever happened... to the aliens.

The Sorcerer and the King by Winterhill (Arhtur/Merlin, Gwen/Lancelot, other cast and OCs)

Summary: Canon AU -- Merlin's death is only the beginning; with no-one to protect the kingdom, Camelot falls to an enemy sorcerer and Arthur is forced to serve in the court that he once ruled. When an escape attempt goes horribly wrong, Arthur is rescued by someone he never expected to see again -- and it's their destiny to put things right.

Rec: This is Epic! Just brilliant and epic! The OCs are fabulous, the Merlin and Arthur she creates in this world where sorcery reigns are so right and the story is wonderfully plotty and had me clutching my heart and cheering them on in turns. I don't want to give away the plot at all, so just go read it.

Sherlock and Moriarty as lobsters, knife-fighting. Pure crack and pure awesomeness. I cannot breath for giggling at the moment. :D

Faith Makes One Fine Pillow by erin_giles (PG, gen)

Rec: This is my favourite Sherlock fic so far. (And I have been reading a lot of Sherlock fics of late.) It's short and, in Sherlock's considered way, very sweet.

Summary: But John never doubted the fact that Sherlock would show up when he was most needed, because there was one man that John, as an army man with little to no faith believed in, and that was Sherlock Holmes.

This is awesome! All from Lestrade's POV as he gets to know and rely on Sherlock over time. So well written and it's anonymous comment!fic. Wish I knew who wrote it.

Author summary: Sherlock has never learned to swim. John decides to teach him.

This is brilliantly written. An entirely gen piece in 12 parts that uses the last scene of season 1 to flash back on various moments in both Sherlock and John's respective past and shows how those moments shaped the two men into who they are in the present. The history the author has created is just perfectly written and utterly believable. It's well worth the read.

I'm not ordinarily much of a slash fan. Something to do with how people write slash and, in my opinion, suddenly the characters aren't themselves any more, but occasionally an author gets it right and they manage to walk that line.

queenklu has made a Sherlock/John fanmix and she's also written a story to illustrate why she chose the songs. It's these words that have me going, oooh I can see that. It's a very lovely piece of writing.

All the voices are pitch perfect, it's funny and not quite what I expected and a lot more. If you've ever wondered what would happen if these worlds collided, read this. You won't be disappointed. It's also a nice long read. :)

Brilliant characterisation for both fandoms. A cool plot, with silly one-liners, conspiracies, shady government types and too many Slayerettes even for Dean to handle. And I love that there's some Willow/Dean action - a pairing I'd certainly never seen considered before and that works nicely here. Here's hoping for a sequel. :)

This is the best fic I have read in ages. Seriously! It's adorable and touching and it really examines the brothers relationship in the past and the present and addresses the issues in a way that I wish this season could. And the Sam h/c makes me wanna hug him and just... yeah. If you read one fic this season, you have to read this.
