I find it incredibly interesting that Kindle is basically paving the way for completely legal and legitimate fan fiction. I've already downloaded a few of the stories, but not read them as yet. Some of the royalties go to the copyright holder of the original work.

How do you all feel about this? I quite like the idea and even find it exciting, though a small voice in my mind hopes it doesn't open up possible lawsuits for those of us still writing in the open and free domains of the interwebs.

ALso this is... interesting: Kindle Worlds is a creative community where Worlds grow with each new story. You will own the copyright to the original, copyrightable elements (such as characters, scenes, and events) that you create and include in your work, and the World Licensor will retain the copyright to all the original elements of the World. When you submit your story in a World, you are granting Amazon Publishing an exclusive license to the story and all the original elements you include in that story. This means that your story and all the new elements must stay within the applicable World. We will allow Kindle Worlds authors to build on each other's ideas and elements. We will also give the World Licensor a license to use your new elements and incorporate them into other works without further compensation to you.

Finally watched the ending of S6 Supernatural. 2 thoughts: 1)Jared is awesome! And 2) I wasn't expecting that particular ending at all. How intriguing!

Sex scandal: defence lobby returns fire at minister over handling of cadet case

Have people been following this? It has me disgusted beyond belief. A woman had consensual sex. She did not give consent for the man involved to broadcast the sexual encounter via skype to 6 other men in a nearby room, who then spread screen caps of the footage to the rest of the academy. In my own mind it's akin to rape, possibly even worse than rape. She did not invite those other men into the bedroom, nor did she give permission for footage or photos. She no doubt now feels disgusted and violated. And she wasn't even given a chance to say "no".

The bit that makes this really disgusting, is that the defence force then treats her like the villain. They put her through an unrelated disciplinary hearing yesterday. Meanwhile it seems that the men involved are completely untouchable. Defence is not charging them or even kicking them out of the academy that is meant to be training them as future leaders (You want one of these guys to be in charge of your life?) and so far the advice given by police is that no crime was committed.

Ugh. I don't have the words for this. I can't believe it is still happening at ADFA (where new guidelines and massive changes to stop the culture that existed there went through many years ago) or even in my country.

Give it up Steven Conroy! What kind of moronic Communications Minister sits around taking away freedom of choice and trying to create a similar situation to the Great Firewall of China? Isn't that actually taking away communications? Freak! (I'm more ranty than eloquent today, so bite me.)

I think I'm going to check out the discussion paper. It seems it may be too late for public input though. I'm annoyed this is the first I've heard of it. *wibble* Sounds like a stupid idea, especially when they're blocking more than just known child porn sites, which is what they are basing the need for this thing on.

It seems to be a complete copy of my Youtube page. *confused raised eyebrow* But I'm not a member of the forum and the FAQ is a search, so it tells me nothing. It's a little odd though, right? How did my youtube page get on Asylum.net??

And then again here - Another copy of my youtube account. So, is this just something forums do now? I'm curious having never come across it before.


On a nice note.... The blogger credited me and Ash, so I don't mind my vid being here (in fact it's cute), but I wish I knew what the blog says. Anyone got any... what language is that?
