If you haven't heard of Expanding the Verse now is an awesome time to join in the fun. They've got polls up for various things, I'm heading up The Great ETV Experiment (TGETVE) like the old TGRRVE's I used to run at SVS (group vids with a twist) and just yeah. ETV is a multifandom forum and they attract mature conversation and discussion, helpful vidders (clips, tutorials etc.), nice people and constructive criticism in a lovely environment. We're in need of some new blood though.

Hi y'all. A few things:

1) Another article has emerged with info on the new Canadian spin-off of Primeval. And yes, it is definitely a spin-off now, which does give some possible scope for character crossover, but mostly makes me glad that they aren't trying to reinvent the wheel entirely. Yay! Makes me want to watch it now. :)

2) wrisomifu (Write something you miserable fuck!) is now open to new members. I do it every year without fail and enjoy hate it immensely. Here's the advertisement:

wriso is a month-long challenge for people who don't like to push themselves too hard, or display any unseemly enthusiasm. all that's needed is 10 minutes a day of typing (coherence not required), a quick check-in and a little mutual griping with your fellow mifus. in return you'll get some gentle cudgelling and all the whingeing space you could ask for. it's the laziest, most wretched writing challenge in town, and it's calling your lj-name.

3) Got my festivids assignment the other week. Wow. I really like my vid challenge, but it will be a challenge. My word. Eeep. Anyone else signed up this year? :)

4) Take a look at my tvrealm Big Bang over HERE. I know I'm not great at graphics, but I had a lot of fun making these anyway. And then I managed to bury them under a cut... oops. :)

5) Annnd... there was something else that I will no doubt remember randomly in the middle of the night, but until then... that is all. :P

I doubt I'll ever manage a 10,000 word story. I seem to get distracted to easily, but I'll pimp the comm all the same. :)

I hadn't seen this advertised until today, so I thought I'd pass on the word in case others were unaware too. The whole situation is so awful, I'm glad there are LJ users getting into the fund raising again.

There's now a help_midwest community open for bids.

This community was started to help the Midwestern United States primarily Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas that have seen a number of deadly storms. On Sunday, May 21st a tornado hit the city of Joplin, MO causing untold devastation and the storms have not stopped. Today there were touchdowns in the residential areas of Overland Park, KS and Claycomo, MO also an EF2 tornado struck the city of Sedalia, MO. - help_midwest introductory post.

Bids are open until June 30 2011.

There's also a more established community that has just finished its forst round of bids called helpthesouth.

This auction was created for those affected by the waves of tornadoes that blew through the southeastern United States on April 27, 2011. The tornadoes passed through at least six states with over 300 reported dead. - From the comm. sidebar. They appear to be expanding from there and are supporting other parts of the country that are in trouble with tornadoes and floods.

There will be a round 2, but not sure when.

I always think these kinds of communities are a really nice idea. :)

This is a multifandom auction raising money for people affected by the floods and other disasters currently happening in Australia. We're now also extending our reach across the water to raise money for victims of the recent New Zealand Earthquake.
