Mum just wandered out with a bucket of water to put on the garden and she tossed it and...

MEOW! Very wet cat came flying out of bushes.

It was so very LOL!Cat-worthy. I wish I'd thought to grab my camera before we attacked her with towels. Poor kitty, but oh my gosh funny! She's currently soaking in the sun while licking herself furiously and attempting to still look indignantly dignified. I think the water probably tastes like oranges.

Help, what do you call the thing you use to flip an egg over with when you're frying one up? It's like a flat thing on the end of a handle.

I offered up "spatula" but was poo-pahed. "Flipper" also didn't satisfy my dad. There's another word for it and until someone comes up with it, Dad is not gonna stop bringing it up and it's driving me insane.

First person to give me the word...I dunno, ask me for something you think I'll be able to provide and it's yours. Just make him stop!

"Well ask Dad, he'll know!" "Well, have you heard it called a spatula?" "It's not a spatula, I swear it and I grew up in your house. You never call it a spatula!"

OMG! Family! *dies o laughter*

"Yeah, I know people call it a spatula, but it's not!" I think my Grandpa is looking up references now. Heeeee!

"Oh, now you're just making stuff up so I think you think you know what you're talking about, but you don't. It's not a toast flipper!" Ha!

I think I need to steal my mum's bike. Dad and mum bought these awesome Avanti bikes with Shimani (sp?) gears and shock absorption in the seat. It's so much fun to ride them. :)

I also started watching BSG S3 yokiem. Man, it's heavy stuff! *meeps* I think my laptops hard drive is about to crash again. I hope it lasts until march. O_o

Thesis writing maybe this afternoon... after a cold shower and a nap. *flails* (My butt hurts from the bike seat like whoa!) I will do some thesis writing, really! Dad has loads of work to do, so I'll probably join him in laptop land later.

Two more days of this! Whee! Heaven!

Gotta love my family. A slightly embarrassed sis was laughing like crazy on the phone just now. My dad is like a little kid at heart on a normal day, so picture this:

Dad is sitting in an airport between flights. He's had maybe two hours sleep in about two days. He switched phones with my sister before he left because her phone has global roaming on it. So he's playing with it and realises that her text messages are saved to my sister's phone, rather than to her simcard and so he starts flipping through them...

Lucky for my sister, there is nothing incriminating in there, but there are several messages from her husband to her, since she was away at a conference recently. They say stuff like missing you heaps and contain mushy words like "honeybuns," "sweetheart" and "cuddles" and he always signs off his text messages to her "Love G."

So what does dad do? He chooses all the choice phrases and composes a text message to my brother in law of course. It goes something like:

Hi honeybuns. Missing you heaps already. Snuggles. Love D.

So bro-in-law gets the message, binks for a minute, cracks up laughing and composes a reply:

Hi sweetie! Are you wearing the little black lacey number I bought you? Love G.

He gets the response:

Shhh! That's private.
