So, I finally got around to watching The Plan and I'm kinda glad I hired it rather than buying it.

It was interesting to have seen it and in certain parts I felt like it added something. It was at least interesting to get a whirlwind revisit of the entire series. However, for the most part, it left me feeling like the cylons really didn't have any plan beyond "blow up the humans" which sort of seemed to undermine the whole series; the same series that started every episode with ..."and they have a plan". It also felt like the writers wanted to humanise the cylons further in our eyes, which just frustrated me for the most part.

It basically left me feeling like (a) the writers felt some need to explain themselves, but I wasn't quite sure what was being explained and (b) the network figured they could milk the series for another tele-movie.

Is anyone active in BSG fandom, unlike me, and therefore have some insight into what we were meant to get from this movie? I feel like I'm missing the point somehow.

I was also really hoping it might give me further insight into the unsatisfactory BSG series ending, but alas no mention of that. Did anyone really get the series ending? Is there meta out there that'll make me feel less let down by it? (I loved the series right up until that ending and now I pretty much can't be bothered watching it ever again.)

Anyway, it was good to have seen The Plan but I'm not awed by it. Nice acting as always, but it didn't add much for me. *nods*

Tell me good stuff, bad stuff, which vids you thought were the most interesting, which ones stunk... I'd appreciate it. It helps me decide what sort of vids I want to make next! :)

So I'm watching S3 lately. Up to episode 8 now I think.

Did I miss something? Do they now have a definitive cylon test?

I watched BSG 2.17 and 2.18 tonight with Yokiem. Wow, it still packs a punch this show. So very Dark. Does anyone have a lead on good BSG fanfic?

Oh on that note, I'm after some good het SGA fic, or communities with good het. I don't much mind the pairing, but I just tend to find that when I try to sift through the het a lot of the writing just isn't that good. Of course it's the same in the slash, I think I've just got a better idea where to look these days.

Anyway, I know there are Shep/Weir shippers and multi-shippers etc, on my friends list. Where do you find the good stuff? Coud you rec me a favourite fic please? Or a favourite author or comm to sift through? (by the by...I adore well thought-out AUs!)

Oh and this one is a firefly/BSG crossover. (Not my ususal SGA rec) It sounds like it could never work as a crossover, but she gets the voices totally right and much to my astonishment, totally makes the thing work. Yep, basically it's set in the BSG universe during the time when Apollo and the President are hiding out in the fleet, after escaping from Gallactica... and they hide out on Serenity ...a ship which has sort of snuck into the fleet unnoticed. GO read it, it's actually very good.
