I just got several emails, looking very official and claiming to be from the Commonwealth bank. They asked you to click a link and update all your details or they would cancel your account.

How fucking gullible do you think I am???

Apparently, in our lab alone, people have received these emails form NAB and Commbank this week, so there must be a whole heap of them at the moment. It really annoys me. I mean some little innocent will no doubt click the link and next minute...BAM!...they have no money. *rails*

Anyway, I tried to do the responsible thing and email the bank, but they probably already know about them.

Also, would the University please, for the love of god, fix the damn SPAM filters. I am tired of having letters about penis enlargement and stocks to buy and weight loss pills and randomly misspelled drugs... in my work account. I can understand a few emails getting through, but 10 or 15 per day is just annoying. Gmail has a waaaay better SPAM system than you and they are free! In the last three days, gmail has correctly blocked 47 SPAM emails.

In other news, I have 344 comments of SPAM in THIS post. Wootness! I want 1000. Go SPAM me over there! Teehee!

Oh, yes, received those through my uni account in the last couple of months too.

And double yes on the uni spam filters. Ours are shocking too. How do you access your work email? I'm asking because I'm now using Mozilla's Thunderbird to access it, which has an adaptive junk filter...you teach it what's junk and it starts to catch it.

We use Eudora. It has filters and stuff I think, but I've never managed to make them work. It sometimes labels stuff as possible spam, yet still puts it in your inbox. I guess that means there are different levels of Spam filters or somesuch on it. *shrugs* I'm terrible with such things.

Were the comments on the fic any use? It was pretty late, so I may have just been rabling. :p

Ah, yes, Eudora should have filters I think. The not putting in your inbox is probably in one of the settings, I know I can change that in Thunderbird (I'm just waiting for it to work reliably before I do that).

Yep, the comments were very useful, all of them were valid, actually, I think. Normally, I would put more joining words to make longer sentences, but it doesn't work with the mood of the piece.

Hmmm. Maybe if I get desperate I'll go searching for the settings. It's very annoying though, because they updated the whole email system adn it slowed it down heaps and gave us SPAM. It worked fine before, but they had to mess with it. *humpf*

Yep, I know. I came to the same conclusion. Hence I didn't mess with the joining-word addition much. It's a nice fic btw. I love the last line. :D

Heee. Updating usually does makes things worse...Although, our spam filter is catching a fair bit, just not everything.

Thanks. I started to get all worried about whether it really works...
