Oh knowledgeable peoples out in the ether; does anyone use a client for LJ and could tell me about them?

I found the FAQ sheet and the list of clients for windows, but I don't really get what it is that they do and I'm not sure which one to try or whether to try one at all.

I have this strange notion that it would be cool to be able to write entries when you can't get to the web and save them for later upload. It would be great for holidays and travelling and stuff. Is that something that a client might enable? What else can they do? Why do people use them?

Many thanks for any info.

Another Semagic user here - and I also love it - use both at work (the blessings of being a local admin on my computer) and at home. The ability to save files and then reload them is great - as well as all the other abilities mentioned. I am a good coder, but I still use the buttons to add things like other lj users & communities as it means I don't have to remember how to spell those on my lists.

Plus I like being able to access my usre pictures easily - as well as all the tags. And the history option under Journal menu means you can edit any of your previous posts easily.
