Oh knowledgeable peoples out in the ether; does anyone use a client for LJ and could tell me about them?

I found the FAQ sheet and the list of clients for windows, but I don't really get what it is that they do and I'm not sure which one to try or whether to try one at all.

I have this strange notion that it would be cool to be able to write entries when you can't get to the web and save them for later upload. It would be great for holidays and travelling and stuff. Is that something that a client might enable? What else can they do? Why do people use them?

Many thanks for any info.

That looks really good, I might download this for home! Won't work at uni, though, don't know what the linux client would be like...

If you look up clients in the FAQ sheets, the list they give you is for all different platforms here (http://www.livejournal.com/download/). I just linked the windows one since it's what I have.

See it IS cool! I knew I was missing something. :p

I know they listed them for Linux, I just would rather know a bit more about that client before downloading it (like you wanted to know a bit more about the windows one). Although, I probably shouldn't download it anyway, seeing as I shouldn't be playing with LJ much at uni.
