It seriously amuses me that John Watson's blog gets spam comments.

I have 800 more words of Sherlock/Inception and still no idea where it's going. *facepalm*

How are you all doing on this fine Saturday?

Bored eh? Hmmm... not sure I can remedy that.
Though this post did remind me that you posted your fic and I haven't read it yet. :)
I wish I could write. *sigh* Have you always written or is it something you started doing because of fandom stuff.
See, now you have a question to answer instead of being bored. ;)

Um, my family will tell you I've always had a way with the English language and I liked writing short stories and what-have-you even as a little kid. I've never regarded myself as a great author, but I do enjoy it. Fan fiction has actually helped improve my writing a lot. People can be quite blunt online when something is badly written, but they can also be very helpful and encouraging, and betas are lovely. :)

I figure most writers were writing when they were young - or knew they could tell a story at least when they were at school (which I could never do..). Though I have also seen some people say they only started when they became involved in fandom.
I teach narrative writing at school and even though I can't write myself I have learned a lot from reading fanfic and reading congrit and those tutorials that appear every now and then. More than anything... the nature of POV.
I find though that I can't tell writers if I think their writing is bad. I tend to just not say anything. Though I think I learn more from reading bad writing.
Ooh, blabbed a bit there. I must be bored as well... :)

You teach narrative writing? Awesome. I would love to do some more formal courses on writing. I always fall down when I try to write a longer story. I've never quite figured out the art of pacing a longer plot and unveiling it in an interesting way. I'd love to one day get a novel out and now with e-books being so prevalent you can self-publish pretty easily - meaning it's something in everyone's realm of possibility. [/rambles]

And "teach", might not really be the right word. It is to primary school kids so it's the basics of structure and the difference between 1st and 3rd person etc. Not the finer art of it all.
And yes! The opportunity for writers to get their stuff out there is fabulous now. It's just a matter of getting a following I suppose.
Oh, I'm all rambly as well. I'm waiting until I can post my Sam vid...so I'm on line just mucking around with the various posts. I have to wait until a certain time... so.... *taps foot*

I've got Arthur talking to Mrs Hudson, who of course is assuming that Cobb and he are more than they are. lol. I am enjoying writing this too much considering I have no plot to speak of.

And, hee, plots are overrated.
