Why the hell did I sign up for a fic exchange? I did it once before and vowed never to do it again... and then I did. :(
More than half the writing time is down and I'm still flailing about in an attempt to find a hook for a story. I have some ideas, but nothing solid.
Freaking out.
Gah!
EDIT: My Friends list is AWESOME! That is all! :)

I have an opening paragraph...partially stolen from a previous comment fic, but it's a start. Who knows, maybe I'll have more by the time we can chat.
*sits to think calmly and rationally*
Thank you. *smish*

What to send me some thoughts and I'll reply tomorrow while I'm at uni? I'll try to be online sometime this weekend.

I think I have something like a plan now. But I need ideas still. I'll email the VERY rough outline thing. Heh.

I found the sit-yo'-ass-down-'n-just-write approach worked particularly well for squeezing out a revolting, bitty...what's the opposite of cohesive? Whatever that is, my draft is full of that. It's currently sending my beta blind as we speak. That's if her and the priest got the file open alive.
*hopes they did*
When she sends it back I may deny ever having seen it.
I feel your pain. *knuckles your knuckles*

Actually I have a start of a plan. Which is much better than no plan, so yay! :)

I know what you mean, though - there's something about the "homework assignment" aspect of it that tends to make the brain lock right up solid, even though it's supposed to be FUN. *sighs*
Good luck!

Did you read the mod post on how to dissect the prompts if you didn't get any you can work with? Can you mix and match two of the prompts? Do some free-association? Rewatch an episode or two with similar themes?
And like

Sometimes, it's so much easier thinking about fics for other people to write rather than writing your own. LOL!
In other news - how are ya?

Just found out that Paul McGann is gonna be at Armageddon 2010 in April in Sydney and Melbourne. \o/ Not that I plan my life that far ahead, but... :)
I have so many ficcy people choices. I may just write a bit, bounce off one person, write another bit, bounce off next person... rince, repeat. Ha! LJ is brilliant. :)

Hey Derry? Where does one find the good Hornblower fic? Is any of it housed online these days? Gen of course. I'd love to read something involving Bush, Hornblower and Kennedy in some combination. Just watched "Mutiny" and I'm just adoring them all. Really need to rewatch from the start at some point. I'm figuring out which ones I missed because Dad watched them without me. :P

There is also www.hhfic.com which houses mainly gen with some het (including rampant Mary Sue fics). Lots and lots of h/c. I'd rec for Horatio h/c try JoanC and for Archie h/c try SarahB and SueN to start. And I know a lot of the stuff in that archive was written prior to Mutiny and Retribution being aired and so is "AU" for events in those eps.
There's plenty of slash too, but I'm not sure where the archives are.

It's good to have unfussy readers on the friends list. Kidding! *smish* :)

Yes, I got that, I was chuckling as I typed. Forgot that you can't actually see me chuckling.
Caffienekitty has reminded me that I want coffee. What did I do before people in Canada could remind me of such things?
*goes to make coffee*
