How safe is Amazon if I were to order some DVDs?

EDIT: Wow, happy customers! Thanks guys! :)

Incredibly safe.

On the other hand, if you wanted me to (as you already owe me money and I have your address as an alternative on my amazon account), I could order what you want for you.

THIS (http://www.amazon.com/Supernatural-Complete-Season-Jared-Padalecki/dp/B000X5SPBI/ref=sr_1_33?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1227890355&sr=1-33) probably beats JB-HiFi hands down, even with our dollar the way it is and shipping on top. But I could be wrong.

Oh and yes, I'll have to get the details for what I owe you from you. I can't remember the details for the convention prices, but I'm pretty sure I've got all your banking details saved from last time. :)

My guestimate with adding on $5 postage (may be a little more, I think) is approx $30 with the current exchange rate. It's not going to get under $40 for quite a while out here.

Say yay and I'll order it for you.

I've ordered dozens of DVDs on Amazon and only once did anything go "wrong" (the DVD ended up taking a month to get to me instead of the three weeks I was told, so even that wasn't so bad).

Nice to know. I'm kinda leary of online ordering. Sounds good. :)

Never had a problem with them. One time I accidentally ordered two DVDs of the same movie (I thought one was the original and the other was the remake, but they both ended up being the original) and I got to send it back no problem.

Oh, and one time the shipping was slow. It took almost two months for season 2 of Stargate SG-1 to get to us (after it was released on DVD) even though we preordered it. We complained, and they gave us about $15 back for the trouble.

I've ordered from Amazon before, and didn't have any problems. It was very quick to arrive too. The only potential problem is that the dvds will be a different region, so you'll need a region free dvd player. :)

Just adding to the list, I pretty much order all my DVDs from amazon, never had a problem, the only time it took a bit longer was when I ordered it over the Marketplace (other people selling on amazon and not amozon directly) but got it like two weeks later and everything was fine.

Amazon's pretty much the best online retailer and a leader in best practices.

But, on a side note, these days, about 99% of online retailers are safe. I work in e-commerce and if you don't have up-to-date security and happy customers, you can't keep your business going. Most e-commerce sites pay through the nose to make sure their customers are protected.

As far as security of payment in general, most credit card numbers are swiped the old-fashioned way (writing them down) by disgruntled employees. Or the new high-tech way by hacking in out-of-date POS machines (cash registers) at stores by wirelessly connecting while sitting in the parking lot. This is mostly done by the Russian mob.

Just adding my yay in here as well. I've ordered several things from them over the years and they've always come on time and in good shape. Even more than that, my credit card numbers got stolen a few years ago (disgruntled employee at a local store stole a bunch of numbers and sold them) and I had no idea about it until I got a call from Amazon who had flagged somebody trying to use my card to buy $300 worth of DVDs. Because that was an unusual amount for me, they held the order until they contacted me, then when I let them know that wasn't me, they told me to get a hold of the credit card people and cancel the card and all that and of course Amazon refused the order.

Then the other day I bought a song for my mom through them and it downloaded the wrong song. I let them know about it, they had me try again and it was still wrong, so they refunded my money and apologized. So I ended up with a free song and they gave me absolutely no grief over it.

And yesterday I got in on their Black Friday deals and got a couple of new release-DVDs for $8.99 for Christmas presents (Iron Man was in there as was the new Indiana Jones and the Incredible Hulk... wow, that must've been an interesting party, lol! ;) ). Anyway, long!pointless!story is long and pointless, sorry. ;) I definitely love Amazon and have had no trouble with them at all. (Now finding enough money to fund all my buying wants and desires? Whole other problem... ;) ) ♥!

LOL! Awesome! Thank ye! I'm kinda new to the whole online buying thing and I've heard stories bout other sites, so it's nice to check and get such a positive response. :)
