Just thought I'd check in with you, and see how things were going back home in Atlantis. Colonel Sheppard said you were settling in well, but you know how he can be - I'd rather hear it from you.
How is the Colonel? And Teyla and McKay? Ronon too, I guess. I hope everyone's treating you well and that Dr Beckett isn't running you too ragged. He's a nice guy so I'm guessing he probably isn't but I just want to be sure.
I miss you guys all so much. I wish I hadn't been sent back to Earth to get better, but I suppose it's for the best. My family's been visiting which is kinda cool, but yeah. I miss you guys. I'm working back to my fitness so I can come back.
Don't tell the guys that I miss you though! Teyla can know, but the Colonel and McKay and my marines will give me so much crap over it.
So, how are you? Discovered anything interesting in the labs yet? (Try telling me, but do it simply. My brain ain't that smart.)

Dear Aiden,
I was delighted to receive your letter and I'm so glad you're getting better. Everyone is pretty well here, or at least they are all their usual selves.
Rodney has discovered a new toy that acts rather like a virtual reality game and he and Zelenka have been spending a lot of time playing with it. I don't even want to know what they are doing in there. That is they were playing with it, until Simpson discovered some fluctuations in some thingy-me-bob and they had to go back to work.
The Colonel, Teyla and Ronan are all well. I believe Teyla won the last sparring match with Ronan and he has been somewhat sulky since, though I do believe he is actually quite proud of her in his own way. Somehow the team isn't quite the same without you though.
I'm glad you're able to spend time with your family now. I do miss mine so much at times. I don't think I appreciated how much your companionship meant to me until you had to leave, but the thought that you are getting better makes up for it.
Dr Beckett is a hard task-master, but a fair one. We have discovered a better vector system for the ATA gene and preliminary data shows it increased the success of the gene therapy by 2% in the mice. It's not much, but it's a start. Oh and Lorne's team brought us this organic green goo last week, because he thought it was interesting. It turns out that it's explosive when it comes into contact with saline! We're still cleaning up the mess it made of lab 3, but luckily no one was badly hurt.
I promise not to tell the others you miss me, but be assured they are aware of how much I miss you and they are in agreement. We all miss you.

I'm glad you're doing well, but oh, man! A virtual reality game? I'm missing out on that? That sucks. Wish I could see.
Go Teyla! Tell her congrats from me. Ronon's a hard fight - and I only managed to beat him when on the Wraith drugs. He'd so kick my ass now. (Don't tell him that.)
Your mom called me the other day - after I forwarded your last letter onto her (can't believe those people got it mixed in with mine!) I gave her my number in case she got worried. She misses you, so does the rest of your family. They're wondering just how well you're holding up without the Tim Tams. (Somehow, I think you've got a supply...)
And just why didn't you tell me they were that nice?? She sent me a packet and wow.
That's great about the gene - don't know what you were saying, but 2% more success sounds good. And MAN! Explosive green goo? With salt water? I can't believe I'm missing out on that too. Just imagine how much more safer it'd be out in the field!
I've got an appointment with the SGC doc in a couple of days, so hopefully I'll know soon how I'm going!

You may be amused to know that McKay and Zelenka have been banned from using the VR machine. They became so enraptured by it, that they didn't notice how long they had been inside and almost
collapsedpassed out from dehydration and Beckett swore that if it happened again, he'd find a reason to use large needles on them in all future check-ups. They haven't touched it since, though they still won't tell me what was so facinating about the thing. It must have been good for McKay to forget to eat!Thanks for forwarding the letter to mum. You wouldn't believe how often that happens. My sister has been ensuring a steady supply of TimTams via her husband. He's an engineer on the Daedalus now...did I tell you that? They have become very useful in bribing McKay, among other people. TimTams, the bartering item of choice!
The green goo has been moved over to the military labs and is now kept in a fireproof vault. They think if they can house it properly, it could solve our C4 shortage issues. Just add saline, shake and throw!
Goodluck with the doctors appointment. Let me know how it all goes and remember even if it takes a while, I have faith that you'll make a complete recovery.
I'm sending you bear hugs. I wish I could get the real thing though.

Well, that does make me feel a bit better. Kinda scary that it's so addictive. (Again, no telling!) Still wish I could see.

Guess what? Guess what? I WAS CLEARED! I'm now fit to go back to Atlantis! All I've got to do is pass a psych eval and get permission and then I might be back!

Oh my god! That's wonderful news! I just jumped up and did a little dance and several people, including McKay and Sheppard, are eyeing me off like a crazy woman. I'll have to explain the good news to them all later.
I know you'll pass that psych exam with flying colours and be with us all again soon. Say hello to my mum, if you talk to her soon and stay healthy and happy.

I PASSED THE PSYCH EVAL! I still have to have three more sessions just to be sure (I'm a special case apparently) but the next Daedalus run after you get this, I'll be there! Hopefully. One and a half months or so.
Have called your mum; she still misses you. Wants longer letters, but you probably know that.
