Fact finding for fic

A couple of things I just need to check. If anyone can help, just jump right in. :)

1) In Supernatural Season 1, when do Sam and Dean first hear about yellow-eyes? I'm writing what is currently a coda to Provenance, but I don't have my episodes up here and I'm not sure where it comes in the timeline. That is, are they aware of the YED yet or even that there's a demon behind the premonitions etc?

2) Monkey Magic. Remember that show? Did they shoot sparks out of sticks and stuff. Kinda like a magician? I have it in my head as a recollection, but I don't know if I'm confusing two different shows. In my head they fly around on carpets adn occasionally point sticks and then there's bad special effects of like lightening or whatever. Yay or ney?

Monkey flew around on a cloud. He'd do the thing with his fingers and the cloud would appear and he'd jump up into the air and land on it.

I dunno about light out of the sticks, but Monkey has a stick that sits behind his ear and when he brings it out he blows on it and it becomes big. Pigsy and Sandy just has staffs that they fought with.

Possibly. There was lots of magic type stuff. Demons and sorcerers and monsters.

I think they found out once John caught up to them. He just sort of blurted it out in the vampire episode (I think, but not entirely sure). John definetly told them in person. And the connection with the powers wasn't revealed until the finale *nods with more confidence than warranted*

When Sam's on the phone to John in Scarecrow. John's exact words are "It's a demon, Sam." (No mention of yellow eyes.) Then he tells Sam: "You can't be any part of it" and "This is bigger than you think. They're everywhere." (So, basically, take down these names and go hunt this thing and don't come looking for me.)

Hmm, so he knew it was a demon, but not that it was the YED or that it was connected to his dreams. Bah! I'll need to shift the timeline on this thing. Pffft! Thanks! :)

In Nightmares (1:14) Sam says to Max: "You and I must be connected in some way ... For some reason you and I were chosen." Then later he asks Dean: "Aren't you worried, man? Aren't you worried that I could turn into Max or something?" So at that point he's aware that his psychic abilities might be a bad thing. Then in Provenance (1:19) he tells Sarah: "It's like I'm cursed or something. Like death just follows me around." I don't think we actually see the Yellow Eyes until the demon reveals that it's possessing John in Devil's Trap (1:22) and it's then that the demon tells Sam that he killed Mary and Jess because they got in the way of his plans for Sam and all the children like him.

So, if you're writing a tag for Provenance I think at that point they suspect that what killed Mary and Jess was a demon; they don't know about the Yellow Eyes; they aren't sure that Sam's visions are connected to the demon; but because of Max Miller Sam is worried that his visions are not a good thing; Sam thinks he's cursed. Any of that help?

Yeah, thanks! My prompt (for spn_thur_night) has Sarah and the YED, so I need good-ol YED in there. I think I can keep the same story, just move it forward in the timeline somehow. *thinkies* Thanks!
