Hey SPN fandom... where are you?

I'm wandering through all the SPN communities I'm a member of and I'm saddened to find they are almost all dead. There's just crickets and the echo of happier days. (Though I am happy they're still up as an archive.)

Can anyone point me to where SPN fandom is still alive? Has it moved to Dreamwidth? Is it hiding in a few communities I am not a member of or haven't flittered into yet? In particular are there any:
- writing communities open to fact-finding or collating of information for SPN writers,
- general discussion communities,
- busy fic communities?

I'm almost regretting popping in. It's like the party is over and I'm sitting here eating the cake alone. It's very good cake though. :(

SPN people come friend me. :P

(Me: I'm mostly a gen girl, but I don't mind mixed communities and I will read the odd bit of het and slash. I don't do the Wincest/J2 thing, but it won't stop me talking to you if you don't mind that I don't go there. I'm currently re-watching my DVDs. Just hit Season 4!)

Yes, so with you on LJ being quiet. It's not just SPN either, it's all of LJ getting more and more quiet (except maybe in Sherlock fandom). I wish I could reverse that.

Nope, not a Brit, I'm an Aussie like Ash. But I ordered the Season 7 DVDs through Amazon (waaay cheaper than here) and the DVDs came with an Ultraviolet licensed digital copy that is "only available for download in the UK".

Apparently to use this service, one must be (a) over 18, (b) living in the UK and (c) create or have a Flixster account.

Since I am over 18, but otherwise run into problems, I'm happy to give the password to someone else to use. I really only wanted the DVDs anyway. So if you know someone who'd like a licensed digital copy or if you'd like it... just say the word.

P.S. I love your sidebar gifs. Where does everyone get all the cool sidebar gifs?

Hi back, no I don't think we've been friends before and I've never been on Rinkle (don't even know what that is!)

I'm only in the SPN fandon, never been able to get myself excited enough with any other show and I miss those days when, if you just left your journal for a cup of tea you'd find several posts to catch up on. Now overnight I might only have 20 posts to check through :(

Oh my new set has that ultraviolet copy with it, no idea how to use it though, I guess I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the offer though and if I hear of anyone who'd like it I'll give you a shout.

So you are an Aussie, we have several family members over there and my daughter is going over in Sept with her fiance on a year's work permit. They intend to travel around and, hopefully, work along the way.

My sidebar is my pride and joy and so I get so peeved off that LJ is soon to force the new friends feed on us, which will deny us/me those lovely gifs and header. Adding gifs is quite easy so long as you have them saved in an appropriate place, like Photobucket. Most of my gifs come from a very good friend who is credited :D

Oh no, Rinkle is an LJ user, not a place. Sorry. Maybe I just saw you around the communities back in the day adn your name stuck in my brain. :P

Australia is awesome, not that I'm at all biased! I hope they enjoy it! Sept is a nice time to travel too. :D

Hmm, is LJ forcing us to use the friends feed? They changed it ages ago and so I figured it was to remain optional.

My daughter spent a month with my uncle near to Sidney back in 2005 or 6 (?) and loved it and has always wanted to go back for a longer spell. I get a little worried they might want to stay though!

Well, the new feed is still in the beta stage and the thought is that it will become the norm. That's fine so long as we have the option to keep the old style, and our lovely sidebars and headers :)
