So, today I worked at cleaning some of the crap out of my room. Been at it most of the afternoon and, I have to say, you can't tell the difference. *facepalm* The joy of moving all the stuff from a small apartment into a bedroom. It just doesn't fit no matter how much crap I manage to throw out. And there's still a lot of stuff in here from my childhood that can't really be thrown out either.

I've decided to set a goal of 500 written words a week. It's small and manageable and maybe I can start writing something worth reading again. Who knows. I just want to get back into a habit of writing because it's enjoyable, rather than staring at a blank screen because everything I want to do is some HUGE project. I figure less than 100 words a day isn't going to freeze my muse. I can add to my wips or just write comment fic... maybe even write some original fiction again. Who knows. :)

In celebration of this, I'm seeking out good prompt communities that I can flick through when I'm stuck for something to write. Feel free to let me know of any you like using. I actually participated in a comment fic meme this weekend. Go me! :)

Okay, so here's the deal. I have two longer Supernatural case fic WIPs that are sitting about on my hard drive and I'd like to finish them. They're both set during the early seasons of Supernatural... pre-deal.

Anyway, I've decided to try to finish them both. It'll probably be that I write them in whatever order the muse ends up demanding, but hey can't hurt to ask and see right?!

Also THIS little, highly informative and incredibly articulate rant about the proper use of the 'passive voice' in writing is just priceless. Someone (sorry I can no longer remember who it was) pointed this out and I just chuckled through it.


Finally, how wonderful is that interview with John Barrowman (Captain Jack on Doctor Who and Torchwood)? I haven't laughed so hard in ages. I've never seen an interview so uncensored and JB is so open. Oh I love him so. Figures I'd fall for the gay ones. :P

He walks his dog in a baby carriage, is going to marry his boyfriend (together fo over 15 yrs), talks about being gay and how Jack is 'omnisexual', the look on his face when they play this terrible movie he was in with a giant shark, and just such a fabulously entertaining interview. It was gleeful and cheered me up when I was in need of cheer. Yay! *hugs him*

Just discovered there's an Atlantian Ballet company AU, The Company. It's still a WIP, but it looks to be fun! I love AU's and there are so many in SGA fandom. *grins* There's a Part2 here.


Today, I have:
1. Come incredibly close to adopting an orphaned plot bunny someone posted. I'm still contemplating, but oh the crack ideas in it are priceless and a wild west fic would be so much fun to write.

2. Remembered that I promised several people a long time ago that I'd write a Mr Bean/SGA follow-up, where he makes it to Atlantis with Teddy as his one personal item.

3. Found that I have this Teyla/Ronon bunny floating around in my brain. I was going to write it for Artword, but I've decided to give that a miss this time...but the bunny is still pestering me. It must be because it's so close to Easter. I just can't bring myself to kill the bunnies right now.


Also I was wondering, if anyone reading this has any knowledge of (a)guns or (b)medicine?? It's just that those two things continually come up in my plotty ideas and I sometimes abandon them based solely on the fact that I know I couldn't make those aspects realistic.

Edit again: I just stumbled on Ten Mistakes Writers Don't See (But Can Easily Fix When They Do) This is the best list ever! It simply lists and explains the top ten things that writers get wrong in their writing and they really make you stop and think. I found it fascinating! I'm sure I've done a few of them. I know I've certainly added "empty adverbs" on occasion. Just thought I'd list it here in case anyone was interested.
