It's been a while since I made a ficrec (I think I'm getting much more fussy about what I like), but I liked this one.
The Red Door (or, a Postmodern Prometheus) by Martha (Sheppard/Zelenka, Sheppard/McKay, Sheppard/McKay/Zelenka)- Jesus, John thought. They really were in a Frankenstein movie.
This fic has this underlying creepy feel and a tension to it that just never goes away. Yeah, so it's slash and gets to the threesome thing, but to be honest that is a very small part of the story. The continuing nightmares of Rodney after his accident where he sees a red door are just wonderfully creepy, as are the dream-like realities he and Sheppard experience later in the piece. I won't give away the story, though I will say the ending is rather abrupt and deliberately so. It left me wanting more, which I now think was actually a rather brilliant place to end it. So, go forth and read. I stayed up until one in the morning reading this story, because I just had to know what would happen. :)
