I bought an iRiver (20GB) a few weeks back and I thought I was going a bit nuts, because it kept losing songs. Today, it started losing albumns. Like, you go into an albumn and there would be two songs in it, rather than say twelve or fifteen.
Just then it froze. I can't even turn it off. It's just died. Bleh! Maybe I can exchange the crappy thing for an iPod! *sigh* I hate trying to get a refund. I hope they don't try to fix it. That never ends well.
EDIT: Random question for the better educated flist:
"The interaction of PTH with its receptor and the subsequent activation of G-protein-dependent pathwayshas have been well studied and will be briefly discussed here."
I can't decide whether it should be has or have in the sentence. *meep* Spell checker is going with have, but I would have used has I think. Now I have no idea. Anyone got a nice rule for me?
Update: After much debate here and in the lab...I'm thinking it's "have", because they are two separate things. It's just my extrememly odd sentence which is messing with my grammar rules. Maybe I should change the sentence. *grins*

In the context that you are using, I would say "has".

Yeah. I'm going to go to the store tomorrow and demand my money back I think. I'm just so annoyed. It hasn't worked right from the beginning.

I was thinking "receptor has been" (singular) and "pathways have been" (plural), which is why I was/am still confused. Since the receptor part is first, I'm inclined to put "has".
But you may be right. In general people that study a language are often better at the grammar, because they have to learn it.
hmmmm. *ponders*
Yeah it's interesting I guess, but I'm a tad over it at the moment. I'm trying to get interested again, so I can write. I could bore you all with PhD stuff, but I tend to think you'd all fall asleep. :p

And I'm pretty sure that "has" is correct in that context.

That's two votes "has", one vote "have". Hehe! I'm going with has for the moment. I'm sure one of my supervisors will insist on correcting it if it's wrong. :p

Don't think that ipod is your only choice!

If I can get a refund, I think I'll just get a little one and change the music regularly. The way this one was set up was really stupid, but it could just be because it's broken. I'm not sure.
Samsung huh? I'll check it out. :D
I really love that scene with Lorne. I've been watching Duet on repeat while I write my fic and the expression is priceless. :D

I think it's 'has' too. But, it depends. Are you talking about the whole process and activation as one eg.
'the interaction of PTH with its receptor and the subsequent activation'
or as two:
'the interaction of PTH with its receptor' and 'the subsequent activation'.

Yeah, it sucks! *points at Joe* Made me do that!
I'm trying to say that both of those processes have been well studied. Like I could put a comma before the 'and'. Would that make a difference?

Maybe adding in 'processes of' or the 'processes concerning' or something similar in may help?
Joe looks like he's saying, "Rawr! And yours is THIS tiny!"

Should have probably just done that, but it takes me so long to write something that sounds scientific. :p
I love my joe Rawr icon. :p

Read a sentence enough times and I no longer make any sense. :p
