So, since I'm watching S9 SG1 and remembering how good it all is and why I used to love this show...anyone got some ficrecs? I only recently got inot web fandom and only really SGA so far, so they can be oldies that you just adore, or brand new stuff. I really don't mind. Any pairing, het gen, slash or femmeslash, since I have no opinion on pairings in the fandom and I like variety. Just leave me a comment with a link and I'll give you my eternal gratitude.
Also, has anyone got screencaps of hugs?
Specifically I'd love some Sam/Jack or Jack/Daniel, but other hugs are very welcome too. I'm considering a huggable banner for my LJ, because it would make me happy every time I logged in. So yeah, screencaps of your favourite hug moments. Are there any Cam hug scenes? Oh and Vala/Daniel hug please. Behind the scenes hugs welcome too. Other fandoms hugs could come from include DS9 (Bashir/Dax) or BSG, or maybe Buffy.

There's a great AU, very angsty, not finished, but what's finished is brilliant and there's a lot of it. A Life in Ruins, Daniel has a dangerous coping mechanism. Any of the other ones by those authors are also really good.
If you hadn't read
Bushido, a Daniel centred very long story, with a sequel. Recent events have Daniel resigning from the SGC. Yet on his last mission, his hidden talents with the sword are called upon to save his team. Captured by proud samurai, the only hope of SG1 lies in Daniel following the Way of the Warrior . . . (It sounds dodgy from this, but is brilliant, and so Daniel.)

Fic recs. Wheee! Not that I don't have a thousand tabs open already, but SG1 will give me a break form the McShep. I know there's a Jack/Sam kiss in the 2nd(?) episode of the first season.
Sam kisses McKay on the cheek in Redemption part 1 (6.01 maybe? 7.01) I like this one.
Elizabeth/Shep hug in The Seige II/III. *bah* baaad ship.

Hee! I'm a huge SGA fan, so I can find those hugs. It's the SG1 hugs I've forgotten where to find. Hehe, not a Shep/Weir shipper I see. :p I tend not to be either, but friendship hugs are all good too and I'll ship anyone if given the appropriate prompt.

I have several "Sparky" shippers on my flist though and their adoration for the pairing is really cute, so I certainly don't badmouth it or anything and I can see where they are coming from.
McKay/Sheppard is a great pairing, I often write it myself (am writing one now), but it's kind of overwhelming in this fandom. You really have to search if you want to read other pairings, which is a pity. I'm a multi-shipper and I do like variety.

Ford/Beckett. Ohhhh! Never thought of that one, but then I didn't really get into the fan fiction thing until S2, so that's probably why. There's still potential there, if you create an AU with Ford recovering from the enzyme or something. It could be fun! :D Or just write S1 fiction.

Sam and Teal'c!
Sam and Cameron!
Which probably shows my complete and utter bias (as I'm very fond of Sam/Teal'c, Sam/Jonas, Sam/Cameron, Sam/basicallyanyonebutJackorDaniel). I'm actually kind anti-Jack/anyone, though I will squee as loudly as the next person over anything. Friendship's good.
However, off the top of my head, there are Sam/Jack hugs in...
Out of Mind, There But for the Grace of God (although, that was alterny them), Death Knell when they find her, Fire and Water has a lovely friendshippy one (in fact, that one I'll link. Three times [oh, look at those muscly arms]), Solitudes has the whole "Hold me, I'm COLD and my sidearm is very pokey" thing.
Jack and Daniel - Need has one, very bigly. End of The Serpent's Lair, I think Legacy has some sort of holdy. There's the "Dude, WTF? You are NOT jumping off the ledge" hold in The Light.
There might be some more in the earlier seasons. I think that, after Daniel cut his hair, he became too manly for Jack to hug on-screen.

Thanks for the recs. I'll have fun reading all of these. I really want to go back and just watch SG1 from S1. I did start to. Watched all of S1 in marathon style and bought S2, but I just got busy again and never got back to it.
The pictures come up as errors for me. Any idea why that might be? At least I know what episodes they're from, so I can prob find them.

No, just... really tired.
I think there are a fair few Jack hugs on the show, mainly cos he's Jack and was the star, but also because, underneath that hot old manliness, there's a squishy pile of goo waiting to erupt. And I ain't talking about the blood and guts.
Oh, season 1. So long ago. So many good eps though I think my favourite season is 3. Singularity! There But for the Grace of God! Tin Man! Heehee Hathor!
