Small (18mb - Right click and download)
Large (38mb - Right click and download) Apparently this file is doing something funky, so for the moment try the YSI link below for the large version, while I reupload. Thanks I've reuploaded. Fingers crossed it works. *sigh*

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] arwen75 for server space. *hugs*

The large file is apparently not downloading properly, so maybe someone could try This YSI link for me...please. Thanks!

This was funny! Liked it a lot. Couldn't get the large version to play past the first couple of minutes, though, something about a codec? But it might've just been me, I've been having issues. But anyway, what is it about the Village People and SGA that works? *snickers*

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

That's odd. I hope it's not my upload that's messed it up. I had issues with the file when I tried downloading the final product from YSI the first time, but the second time it worked fine. I have no idea why though. I'm glad the small version worked for you anyhow.

I don't think it's so much the Village People as, well, boys...nuff said. *grins* Glad you liked it. :D

From: [identity profile] mcalex22.livejournal.com

I have downloaded both because for some reason I can't play the large one. Or rather, the large file stops playing about 30 seconds into the vid. I don't know what the cause is but given that I've got problems with my windows media player; I don't think it likes it that I have VLC media player and Cyberlink DVD suite.

I like this music and I thought that quite of the number of scenes that you selected were pretty funny and made me smile. I think we've spoken about vidding before and you said that you like constructive critisim, so I'll try to be honest.

I reckon it's a good vid, but perhaps needs a little bit of practice (what I mean is that I could tell that it was done by someone who is relatively new to vidding). Some of the flow of scenes from one to another didn't flow "smoothly" to me. Does that make sense? I don't know if I just wasn't in the mood or I'm just used to a different style. What I did like was that it was a happy theme and that you had lots of scenes from S1 and S2, and you had a lot of characters in it, especially the various smiling guys from SGA.

I reckon if I had just started vidding, I'd be worse off... I guess I'm thinking of other vids I've seen from way more experienced vidders.

Also keep in mind that I'm not a very arty farty kinda person and I often miss something unless it's obvious.

Hope this helps and yes, I did like it overall :)

I don't know why the large file isn't working. Someone else said the same thing. *sigh* Could be my upload?

Ah the flow problems are partly our noobishness and partly Yokiem's computer. It was stuttering muchly, because of the many files we were using, so it was hard to figure out the timing. It's probably mostly our noobishness, but we had lots of fun getting together all the shots of the boys. *grins*

Thanks for the feedback and glad you like it.

That was so funny! I loved it - it had me bopping along in my chair. *g*

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Thanks! Bopping is very good! *nods* Glad you enjoyed it. :D

Okay, chalk up another who only got a tiny bit of the large version before it cuts out. I don't know what might be going wrong. Maybe you might like to upload it to sendspace or YSI or something until you can work out what the glitch is.

I got the small version to work fine and loved it.

But constructive criticism? As [livejournal.com profile] mcalex22 said, you did mention that you'd gebuinely likie some. Okay. Hmmm... Some changes that I'd make if I were vidding it would be...

In the beginning when you have the letters Y-M-C-A over the scenes, I think that's a great idea and liked the look of it, but I think it would be better if you used a bigger font. Maybe even a MUCH bigger font. What would look really cool IMHO would be if you could the letter moving "forward" and filling up the picture and then making that the transition into the next picture. But that just an idea that I think would look cool - making it work is another matter entirely...

And I think it would be a bit more effective if you accentuated the "Y-M-C-A" bits of the chorus somehow. You could do it with fast cuts like you have with those trumpety toot bits of the music (and look at my highly technical music jargon!). Or maybe something else. Maybe an overlay of the letters again. Maybe you could use the same scene and stead of cutting to another scene you could change the colour tone or the brightness or jump to a "close up" on each letter. It just seems to me that it's that part of the chorus that really sticks in people's minds - the bit that they bop to most, as it were. I think it would be good to highlight it visually.

But I did really enjoy it. I did particularly like the fast cuts on the trumpety bits. And laughed out loud at some of scene match-ups. Great stuff.

BTW - would Yokiem be the person who saw "V for Vendetta" with you, [livejournal.com profile] mcalex22 and me? If so, *waves* ;-)

Oh, and hope you had a good Anzac Day. Back to work tomorrow... *sigh*

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Yeah Yokiem is A's super sekrit vidding name! *giggles*

Well this one was just a bit of fun, but we rather like the beginning and we didn't want to overdo it, so um yeah, agree to disagree on that one. *grins* We were trying to match people (mostly Rodney) to doing the Y bit, but yeah maybe colours would have been cool, but I don't think WMM does individual colours ...just that rainbow thingy (which we tried and it cracked us up *points at crazy and somewhat random McKay/Beckett scene :p)...unless you know something I don't. It would have been cool though. I did think of changing colours, but yeah...can you do that?
This is all my opinion btw...Yokiem so not here. :p

But I did really enjoy it. I did particularly like the fast cuts on the trumpety bits. And laughed out loud at some of scene match-ups. Great stuff.

Hee my favourite is the hitting and throwing bit, which Yokiem put in and totally cracked me up. *grins*

I don't think I want to hear that song for a while though. It has been completely stuck in my head for over a week now and it's getting rather irritating. Hee!

Heehee! Great vid! YMCA really emphasises how "gay" they are - especially Carson and John's hair!

You put in most of my favourite moments, and there were a few appearances from Lorne, so I loved it! Thanks for sharing!

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Hee! Really? They seem gay? Oh nos! *giggles*
Glad you enjoyed!

Ah ah! That vid is AWESOME! First I really, REALLY love that song! It makes me happy whenever I hear it, and that + SGA video = Me being very very happy right now. Also the forst part of the vid, with the song starting and the SGA cast walking cracked me up big time! It so boys band like ^^ (same thing for the last part) and I also really enjoyed the way the images/sequences you chose fitted with the song!
That's a really great job you've done, and I really hope you'll make more of these!

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Hee! Thanks!

Always glad to make you happy Aegis! *bg*

duh, I want to see this vid. but my pc is a bit stubborn lately. I'm trying later to download it and pray it works ;)

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

The large file is stuffing up for everyone so far. I have no idea why. So, if you're having troubles, it may be good to try the small file. Pity though. The big one is much nicer. *sad face*
