Woohoo! My mood theme is finally working! LJ finally got it together. *dances*
Just had
rinkle over for a sci-fi-a-thon, which was going to be mostly startrek, but ended up mostly SG1. Good fun though. We watched much Daniel and the DS9 ep with the Tribbles.
Oh and I now have a question for peoples about the SGA episode "Hide and Seek". I don't know about other people, but I interpretted the technobabble in the episode, such that the Ancients were experimenting with Ascention. But, did they trap a pre-existing non-corporeal being (aka, the black blobby evil cloud thing) in order to study it, or did they experiment with ascention and accidentally produce said black blobby evil cloud thing?
I had interpretted it as the second option, but Rinne sees it the other way. Now I'm confused. Just wondering, because of an idea I had for fic, which was sort of based on the black blobby evil cloud thingy being an actual Ancient who was unfortunate enough to be the subject of the wrong experiment, but now I think it may be very wrong as an idea. Any theories?

Anyway concerning "Hide and Seek" I interpreted it the first way and hadn't really thought about the second untill you talked about it... That could be really interesting too but I don't think that was what Rodney was talking about.

Hmmm, it's funny, I so took it the other way. But after watching it again, he doesn't say it that way really. Though I don't think he rules out my interpretation either. *shrugs*

I interpreted it the first way - that it was a pre-existing being that they trapped.
The second interpretation is very interesting too though - I reckon that a fic with that interpretation could work...

Sounds like I may have been the only one interpretting this one differently, but I may still use the idea one day. It intrigues me.
