Quick post, before I dive into bed, because man am I tired. I was tired last night and meant to go to bed early ... and then I got a plotbunny that would not be ignored. (See previous post). I'm happy with the result too. Weird how my best fic is just me going "splat" there's a fic! I just can't decide what it is. I was aiming for fluff, but I think it ended up a tad angsty. *shrugs*

Can I just say, if you ever hear me say: Grocery shopping and late night shopping (Thursday) in the same sentence, you have my full permission to thwap me over the head with a very smelly, very big and very cold slimey tuna fish!!!

OMG! It took me longer to park than it took me to shop! ...all the customers were tired and grumpy, all the staff were walking zombies and the angst of Sydney-siders looking for parking spaces never ceases to amaze me!!

Huh and me being starving after the gym, I wandered into the junk food section and went crazy! My excuse, sci-fi-a-thon this Saturday and we need junk food. However, I doubt we need that much. *cough*

I got my "Nothing" DVD! *squee* ...and it was $13!! Woot!
While in there I noticed they are selling DVD players for $47!! OMG, so got one! It even plays WMA, JPEG and MP3, according to the box!

On the downside, Uggg! It's been such a weird week already. I swear my lab work was cursed.

1) I had gels set wrong, break, stick to plates and then stain so badly that I couldn't use them. ...more than 3 times.
2) My new ELISA kit finally came in, been waiting on it for months from Japan. (Good thing, yes!) In celebration though, the freezer died on Friday night and no one noticed until Monday morning. It was the freezer that contained all my antibodies and patient serum samples. Arrrrg! *head goes thunk* Now I have to just hope that they aren't ruined, because hello, it's taken me two years to get those samples and most of the patients are now sadly deceased.

Woo hoo! Nothing! Yep, I hate driving to shopping centres on Thursday nights - hard to park, yuck :)

Hehe, I really hope that you have a good marathon - just a quick question, but is the DVD player multi-region? Coz you might like one as then you can play DVDs imported (especially if something is not available in Australia). Having one that plays avi's is good too - mine does, which mean I can burn stuff that I *cough* obtain from uh, elsewyhere!

Poor you - it sucks when the gels don't work. Elisa - haha, knew about that ages ago... back in my days, it was Gel electrophoresis, southern blotting (or was it northern) and all the old stuff...

BTW, got your email - happy with times etc but you have my number so you can call if you wanna chat!

Have fun and sleep tight :)

I have no idea whether it's multi-region, but it doesn't mention avi. But I have my computer for that sort of thing anyhow. For $47 I no complain! :p

Ya, I do lots of polyacrylamide and agarose gels (DNA)...and Western blots (proteins). ELISA are *love*, since they are very simple. A monkey could follow the kit instructions. Havng said that, I have stuffed one up before.

OK cool with the times. We could meet up a bit before the movie to get tickets obviously. See you there.
