I was not going to like Hawaii-50. It looks like such a dumb show. And yet here I am watching the third episode in a row... It's all your fault flisties. All. Your. Fault.

Alex O'Loughlin has a lot to do with it, though. I loved Moonlight, light on as it was, because of him.

And now my vidding brain is having a little moment where Steve gets turned into a vampire and suddenly can't hack the Hawaiian sun as well as usual. LOL. *sporks vidding brain*

Also, are those real tattoos? Has Alex O'Loughlin gone and got tattooed? They look cool, but wouldn't that be a pain for other acting jobs?

Does it bother anyone else that Dano (sp?) says "okay, all right" all the damn time? It's getting on my nerves. *twitch*

*watches Alex O'Loughlin* O_O Mmmm.

RLTFLOL!!!!! I would SO watch that!

I'm pretty sure he's got those tattoos before? Or is my brain playing tricks on me?

He didn't have them when he was playing Mick St. John in Moonlight. Wouldn't quite do for a vampire I guess... so unless they had really good stage make-up...?

From: [identity profile] in-the-bottle.livejournal.com

I won't be surprise if it had been covered up with make-up. I mean, if they can turn someone into an Orc or Elf or Andorian without GCI, what's covering up some tatts, right?

And yay H50!! Heee! This show is so silly and pretty...

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Yep, silly and pretty about covers it. LOL. I am not watching for deeper meaning.

And they did only show his arms when he was sleeping in his freezer coffin thingy or a few other odd occasions. Cos, vampire... deep mysterious... trench coats and jackets. :P

It's one of those shows you watch after coming home from a loooong day at work and when you just can't brain and just want to look at some pretties before falling asleep. :P

And the Steve/Danno banter, those are fun to watch! :D

I'm pretty sure it's just a freezer? Or is it a custom made coffin freezer? Which kinda makes it a semi-cryogenics unit? IDEK!

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

It's a freezer, but it's a pretty blue freezer that is just his size, so it looks a little coffin-like and it's custom-made. He explains it to Beth one episode, but I haven't watched the whole series for a while. I just watch an episode now and then when I need to relax as I have the DVDs. Kinda like The Listener and I'm thinking H50 will now fit into this bracket too. Pretty, not much substance, pretty...

From: [identity profile] in-the-bottle.livejournal.com

Yeah, been AGES since I saw the eps. I don't think I've actually watched it twice or anything. Frankly, the Listener has more substance than H50, that should be a good indication of how lack of substance H50 is... :P

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

The Listener had some good plot points in S1, they just dropped them and ran for season 2, but it's still a tiny bit thinky within an episode. It's been my relax after work show while they had new eps.

H50, I don't think I'd watch at all if it weren't for Alex O. It'll just be a stand by show for when I need to zone out and stare at pretty. :P (*cough* It reminds me of when my best buddy in highschool used to make me watch Baywatch at her house, though it has more substnace than that at least. Heee!)

There's a lot of stuff that drives me crazy about that show, but ...*beams* lol

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

It's pretty. I'm not sure it has a lot else going for it, although it occasionally makes me LOL. Mostly it's just pretty. :)

saw this while crusing friendsfriends - and yes, the tattoos are real, and years old. :D He covers them for roles - in the Back Up Plan, for example, they covered them all. On H50 they just cover the two he has around his nipples.

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

LOL! I wonder who has that job? :P
Thanks for the info. Having only seen him in Moonlight, I wasn't sure.

I completely agree with you. I thought Hawaii Five-0 looked silly and I never planned to watch it, but Alex O'Loughlin is very hot, so I decided to give it a go. It is a mostly ridiculous show, but it's entertaining and fun, and Alex is very hot. *grins*

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

That pretty much covers it. I mean dumping a guy in a shark pit? Steve has a Bond complex. :P

Edit for icon lols. Speak and the perfect icon will appear. :D

Yes, Kono is the other reason I'd keep watching it. Danny is good only in his banter potential so far, otherwise he annoys me and I can't even remember the other guy's name. lol Wasn't he on Lost a billion years ago?

From: [identity profile] beef-wonder3.livejournal.com

Danny's banter is hilarious and I really like the way Scott Caan and Alex play off each other. Ngl, they have very good screen chemistry together.

Lol! His name is Chin! It took me a while to work out what it was too, they use his name so infrequently in the first lot of eps. Yeah, he was on Lost & on Angel too. Daniel Dae Kim is ♥

GRIN.

I only watch about ten minutes of it, once in a while on Ten, but now I'm like... Dude, Alex Mack just showed up. o.0

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Is that the actress playing his sister?
Edit: I just googled. I think I may not have got far enough into the series to know who that is. *G*

Heh. I was going to say I have no idea. I've seriously not been watching the show either. :D

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

I'm watching the eps that were given to me and I have to say, it's much easier to watch without ads. :)

I had the same attitude to H50. I was determined it was going to be awful. With its cheesy theme tune (I know it's a classic!) and titles straight out of Police Squad!

And now I have two eps to go of the season (I think!) and absolutely adore it in a guilty pleasure sort of way! (And it's not all down to Mr O'Loughlin and Mr Kim being particularly easy on the eye, either!)

It's a bit like watching Vampire Diaries. You're cringing at the occasional awfulness but want to watch the next one all the same!

Can't believe I watched and drooled over Alex in Moonlight and The Shield and never realised he was Aussie until this show either! It must have been very difficult for him and Sophie Myles to keep their American accents straight in Moonlight!

I also like to count how many times they mention Hilton Hotels. ;)

And vamped Steve would be totally awesome! Someone should write that. *cough*
