Is it just me or is there serious continuity!fail going on in the latest Doctor Who episodes?

Okay, so at the end there, after they've just gone to great lengths to show us that the flesh are just as human as the "real" humans, The Doctor just zaps the Amy!Ganger out of existence because she isn't the "real" Amy... Um, what?

And so at one point there, the Doctor that we assume at the time is the real Doctor gives Smith his sonic screwdriver. We see Smith with the screwdriver after he is knocked out. But then The Doctor pulls out the sonic in a whole other area of the building.

I'm confused. Is anyone else confused?

The Amy ganger is different to the other gangers because whilst they are fully separate individuals with their own consciousnesses, the fake Amy's consciousness is linked to her pregnant self who's in captivity. So in effect it's only an avatar and the Doctor's not really killing her, just severing the connection.

As for the sonic screwdriver, I'm still scratching my head about that one. I'll just assume that he's got a few spare ones hanging around, or the TARDIS can just make one for him like she did in (I think?) The Eleventh Hour.

Okay I'll buy the first explanation, but he couldn't get into the Tardis, so I guess he carries a spare after the incident in ep1 of the season...? I dunno. I love the randomness of the story arc so far, but it doesn't feel as tightly written this season. I hope it all comes together as nicely as they usually do.

In Moffat I trust. Though I doubt all the questions will be answered next week, knowing Moffat's fondness for leaving us on huge cliffhangers...

Yeah, I'm sure the story will work out. I just don't like that he seems to leave ethical things out there a bit. Like in the Christmas Special. Although I guess we can assume it all worked out, but still... Whatever.

I shouldn't grouch, I'm loving this series, there are just certain things that irk me.

I must admit that my first reaction was "Ummmm... what?" too.

But in the Confidential they go to some length to state emphatically that the Ganger version of Amy was just a conduit for the real Amy's consciousness and didn't have a consciousness of her own - but...

Wasn't that EXACTLY what the humans thought about gangers in general at the beginning of this story? They didn't think they had minds of their own and so it didn't hurt anyone to kill them... and they were WRONG!

So yeah, the writers went to some pains to (eventually) explain that it wasn't the same thing at all - but I don't quite buy it.

And I've no idea what was gong on with the Sonic. Maybe the Tardis just made him another new one.

But bring on the mid season finale! Like. Right. NOW!

Er... please, Mr Moffat.

I haven't watched the confidential, but it did seem very weird. Why couldn't the Doctor just explain the situation, instead of blowing the Ganger up? It was obviously for shock effect, but yeah. Thank you. Glad I wasn't the only one.

Yeah, but the Tardis was buried because of the acid... Whatever. I'll live with it.

Yup, come on next episode. How long do we have to wait?
