You know I have never seen Daniel Mays play a properly likeable role. One where he is a competent and nice guy.
I've only ever seen him play 'manipulative creepy guy' or 'weak but deep down he doesn't mean harm and he really loves you guy' or 'creepy shadowy guy'. Always played extremely well, but not a character that is easy to love.
Cas is a genuinely good and likeable character and yet he does have depth, which I hope they build so he doesn't get too boring. Obviously his past has been not so good. He's had blood on his hands before.
Woo! I'm finding you attractive Daniel Mays and I'm surprised. None of your other characters (that I've seen) allowed for that, but you're a good-looking guy. Whodathunkit?
I really hope they build his character properly, so that he's really got more dimension than just "nice guy", but even if they don't, I am liking seeing Daniel Mays in that sort of role. It's refreshingly different. Like they've let him move out of the stereotype he was trapped in. :)
Liking the show in general. I'll be really interested to see where it's going.
