New Banner!

Continuing my fun with PhotoShop CS, I made me a new banner from screencaps of Nothing. Yay!

I still can't get S2 layouts to work for me though. Anyone got a link to a good tut? I want to have one with sidebars for links and such. I could load up my banner in S2, but I couldn't figure out how to move the layout down, so I could see it. Like the boxes are covering up the banner. *doh*

I love Nothing. I ordered the DVD yesterday. Wheee! *dances away*

EDIT: The icon I'm using for Nothing is actually by newkidfan and can be found with her other beautiful icons over at blimey_icons. Just wanted to clarfy that, because I didn't make it. Credit Newkidfan or her icon journal if you're taking. :D

EDIT: Oh and to my friends, just in case you feel igored, I'm trying to limit my LJ access during the day...while I'm at work, and also my access to gmail chat and MSN messenger. Teehee! That new layout is awesome! I loved Nothing too, and I spent narly a whole minute looking at your banner, remembering the movie ^^ "Daveania" that so funny ;) Also the quote you used, was one of my favourite too!

I adore that movie! I bought it today, and I literally just finished watching it! David Hewlett is such a great actor.

Your banner is great, and I love that icon too.

As for the layout question, I used the help on s2flexisquares. The memories section has some good tutorials, including "Layout and Banner Posting for Dummies with Paid Accounts", which really helped me out, cos I have VERY limited knowledge of all that css code stuff...

Thanks hon. I'll check out the comm tomorrow. I can't wait to get my DVD. They weren't sure if they could order it, so I'm waiting for them to get back to me. Otherwise I'll go to JB HiFi, because they apparently have it too.

Your banner is freaking fantastic! I love it - I wish I could be as creative as you - all I know how to do is caps, but I often wish that I could do something more!

I have Photoshop CS2 too.

What's your layout format? It looks like it might be a flexisquare one, if so, you can have a look that the com for it - they have many tutorials and if all else fails, just ask. I haven't asked anyone, because I figured that I wouldn't even understand the explanation, but I cut and pasted a lot from there into my theme layer.

This banner was a crack to make, because it's all on a white background. I didn't even have to cut out the images properly. My kind of banner making. I'm really not that good at photoshop. I just dabble occationally, like with everything I do. :p

I'm too lazy to load screen caps and I never have high res. Plus I'm bad at making them look pretty... curves and colours etc. escape me. One day I'll figure out those buttons.

New banner - I squeed when I saw it, because NOTHING is anything but. It's freaky-wonderful-amazing great!

If you mean the icon I'm using as my current default (Nothing), it's totally sharable, but made by the lovely newkidfan (not me), whose icons are always squeeable and can be found in her icon journal blimey_icons I found the icon before I had the movie, but it seemed silly to make a new one, when this one is so nice already.

Thanks for squeeing at the banner. It was fun to make.
