You all told me to get involved in Sherlock fandom and I'm happy to oblige. :D
As such, new LJ banner now uploaded. I quite like it.
Yay for photoshop! :D

I've also been enjoying the fiction I've read so far, but as usual, I'm a bit short of time, so recs are welcome. Help me pipoint the good stuff quickly people. Preferably gen at this point, but mild Sherlock/Watson is probably okay too as long as they are still completely in character (haven't read any slash yet, so not sure of the tone people are taking.)

Awesome banner!!!! =)

I've seen some good ones but there's been so many my mind's sort of lost track of it all. But looking at my memories Pedestrian is a non-slash fic that I bookmarked. It's the missing scene from The Great Game, when John is captured by Moriarty.

It's quite wonderful.

Thank you! Gonna read that one next! :D
For only three episodes, the fandom seems to have exploded. It's quite amazing. It's hard to know where to start. :)

Well, I think that fact that it already had an existing and quite well established fanbase helped. Also, it would've attracted a lot of Doctor Who fans, curious to see how Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss would do on adapting a non-who project. But even so, it's been amazing how enthusiastic and big the response and appreciation it. It really all comes down to the scripts, the acting, the directing and just general quality of the episodes. =)

I'll be putting up another recs post on the comm on sunday, it's mostly Gen.

I'm taking it as a sign of some kind that I'm not dismayed about the replacement of the Chuck header. Still love Chuck, really wonder what would happen if Chuck and Sherlock were to meet, but right now I'm quite "Wheee! Sherlock! \o/"

The comm? As in your journal or should I look elsewhere?

Well I regularly replace my banners with whatever show I've recently discovered, so never fear Chuck is not forgotten. :D

Oh gosh, we really need Chuck and Sherlock to meet. And because the CIA are keeping an eye on Sherlock, Chuck has all this info on him and Sherlock can't figure out how he's doing it. *claps* I want it.

[livejournal.com profile] sherlockbbc, it's not my comm, and it's insanely busy, but just about all things Sherlock-related end up there.

Me too. I left a prompt on a fic meme a while back, but no response, and not likely to be one either.

I can see Chuck looking at Mycroft and getting, like, an anti-flash. XD

*glee* Now, that is an awesome new banner! \o/ Not only is it prettiful, it's clever as well! :D

Now, I wasn't sure whether to rec this or not but decided to go ahead. It sounds quite naughty when you first start off but it's really not so much so, nor is it slash. It's a short crack!fic and I thought it was funny as all get-out and in character for Sherlock and John (and Lestrade ;) ) -- A Study In Leather

I just kept picturing poor John and Lestrade's expressions, lol! ;)

Ahem. ;) Hope it gives you a laugh like it did me! :D *hugs* ♥!

Thank you! I wish I had a higher res cap, but I liked the effect. :)

And that fic... Hahahahaha! Sherlock makes an exasperated noise and leans back to stare bleakly at the ceiling. For a few minutes, the room is filled with nothing but the noise of a riding crop tapping impatiently on Sherlock's thigh. That's so wrong. :P

Hee, I know, that fic just made me laugh, probably because I could picture Sherlock having no idea why that might not be the best idea to conduct his experiment that way and poor John being all O_O at finding him like that when he opened the door. *giggles*

And this gets me:

John stares at him. "Are you wearing make-up?"

"Oh yes." Sherlock waves a hand distractedly. "Mrs Hudson let me borrow hers. She helped me put the whole outfit together, in fact."

"You... You told her it was for a case, didn't you?"

"Yes yes. But you know what Mrs Hudson is like. She has her own ideas about things."

Oh God. That'll be an embarrassing conversation the next time Mrs Hudson pops round then.

*giggles some more* I can just see Mrs Hudson being all, "Oh don't worry, dear, I always used to dress up for my husband back in the day" and John spluttering and turning three shades of red and, again, Sherlock being all oblivious... Lol! ;)

Glad it gave you a laugh! :D ♥!
