I had wondered if you took out all the racial issues (not that I expect you to, but if you did) whether the movie was any good. Apparently the answer is a big resounding "NO". Even the fans diss it.

Hahaha, so apparently the reactions are more entertaining than the movie. Interesting. *g*

Yup, seems that way, not that I've seen it personally. :P

I saw this earlier and it's a scream. I've been loving the scathing reviews this film has received. I almost want to see it to see how bad it is! :)

I don't know the fandom, so I have a feeling it wouldn't bother me as much as these guys. They obviously know the canon and it doesn't match up. I may still go for the effects and to see what my friend thinks of it. I think she knows canon a bit and she's not online enough to know about the controversy.

I was just reading comments on one of the many race!fail posts and I am amazed by the number of people that start a comment with: "I'm about the least racist person you'll ever meet, but..." People look at what you're writing. You may have a good point, but that opener trashed it adn opened you up to serious ridicule. *snicker*

I don't know the fandom,

Ditto. In fact I have no idea what they are referring to, so I wonder if it's bearable to those who don't know the show? Though I hear the acting is pretty woeful, so probably not. And yes - there are the race issues that I've been reading about as well. Sounds like one to avoid maybe.

Oh yes indeed. Bit like "some of my best friends are"... Are those discussions on LJ or elsewhere?

I, myself, have been wondering.

(Hee! And yes, I did throw this in because of your grammar post *g*. My grammar (and spelling) is pretty bad (especially for a teacher), so I love me some grammar posts. Do you follow [livejournal.com profile] fanficrants? I enjoy the grammar rants on there myself. *runs*

You make me happy with your correct usage of "myself". *glees* I do have my little grammatical bugbears. :P

Nope, I don't think I have followed fanficrants before. I used to follow a community that actually pulled out the worst quotes from bad fic and shared them, though. That was pretty funny. I wonder if I could find it again. I think it was badficquotes or some such. Anyway, *wanders off to read some rants*

I just went to see it yesterday...

I think if you're *not* a fan of the show, it might be even worse. What bugged me wasn't so much that stuff got left out or changed, but that the writing was so horrible and half the acting, too. So being a fan of the show actually gave me a bit of comfort, because I knew it existed in such an awesome form somewhere else. If you don't have that, it's just a bad movie.

But. The effects are awesome. And the choreography is pretty sweet.

Damn. I think I won't be going. I do love special effects, but I do need a reasonable plot and slightly good acting or I'll brain myself while watching. *strikes it off to watch list*

I may however, check out the source material.

Saw it last night. I can't remember the last time I was so disappointed in a movie. I only saw the cartoon a few times...it was cute and entertaining. This movie was epic fail. It could have been AWESOME! Great storyline, special effects were good, but the acting and EVERYTHING else blowed! I don't think it was the actor's fault. I think it's what Mnight was going for. You know in some cartoons where they talk and talk and talk and say obvious things and the directing is disjointed, but it's okay because it's a cartoon? It was like that--but with real people. Mnight you fail me. I wish Jerry Bruckheimer had made it.

Ugh. Okay it is totally not one I'm gonna bother with. O_o
