So okay. I bought some music on iTunes. It plays on my iPod nicely. However, I want to back up said music to a CD.
When I hit burn on iTunes, I get two options: 1) burn as mp3 or 2) burn as data CD or DVD
If I choose option #1, I get a message that I can't burn as mp3, because the files aren't mp3s.
So, how do I convert the songs to mp3 in order to do that? Anyone? I was under the impression I could create a CD (from the music I bought) that would play on a CD player, not just a computer.
:(
Help me flisties. I want to kill iTunes... again.
EDIT: OKAY THAT WORKED! WOO! :)

I think if you go to 'advanced' and then select 'create an mp3 version', it... might do so? There used to be a convert but I haven't converted anything since an older version.

Thanks, I'll have a look for the advanced bit.
Edit: There's "create AAC version" which I think is the version that plays on a CD player. Hopefully that will do it. *crosses fingers*

I do like my Nano, but I also wish I'd been able to get some other sort.

I too have always found it weird that the music downloaded from itunes is not in mp3 format.
Can't you choose option #2?

I could choose option 2, but I thought that would just put them on a disc in whatever format they are currently in... which doesn't let me play it other places. Or am I misinterpreting as usual?
I'd like to be able to play it on a CD player. I think I just found a "convert to AAC" which may let me do that... Trying it now.

Convert to AAC should work!!!! I remember doing that for some of my music when I first got my ipod.

Yep, for the most part I'm liking it. I do wish I'd spent the extra money for more storage though. 32GB goes quickly on my music collection. :P
