I just watched episode 1x8.

And I'm thinking, this is one of those shows that really has no need for fanfiction, ya know? I mean that right there outdoes some of the weirder fanfic I've ever tried to read out of pure curiosity. *gigglesnort*

And they'd be all warning: BDSM, H/C, het, torture, violence, mind control... I mean I'm right, right? lol

Ahh... the ep that made me went "Hang on a minute... OMG, you're really going there with the BDSM thing?! Isn't this supposed to be a family friendly show?! What is it I'm watching again?! Did I took a wrong turn somewhere or ingested some crack? Oh wait, it's TPTB who ingested said crack!"

Yeah... LOL!

Hee, nice to know it wasn't just me. I was wondering if I skipped a few episodes somewhere. Like, wait, huh, what? LOL

I've been watching LotS since it started and we're now into season2, so I can't recall exactly what happened in ep 1x8 but I'm guessing by your reaction it was the introduction of the Mord Sith, am I correct?

LOL.. those falic torture devices they called 'ageels' (all spelling is phonetic on this stuff) and the red leather outfits that the Sith wear... HOLY MOLY.. and you know, that show is one of my 12 year old son's favorites. We actually watch it together each Saturday night. LOL

But yea, their introduction had my husband and I looking at each other like WTF??? but needless to say, he got a whole lot more interested in that show from that point, and so long as Richard took his shirt off more often, I too had much to stare at. :D

Season 2 is even better than season 1- seems they got a bigger budget, and not to spoil you or anything, but the Mord Sith play a larger, more personal role in the future. :D:D:D:D

Hmm, not sure about this show. I need a little more than just pretty to keep me watching. We'll see.

Aso, the rating on that lets 12 yr olds watch it? I'm a little surprised there. But then wait, ratings only care about sex right? Whatever. I totally can believe that.

Thanks

Hang in there. Season 2 is far better than 1. The show gains some maturity and a few new characters that are pretty darn cool.

As for ratings. Yeah, to me, LotR was far more gory and yet my 12 year old loved each movie. I'd have never guessed he could deal, never brought those movies up with him. Instead, he'd seen them at a friends house during a sleepover. Part of some marathon and color me surprised that he wasn't totally terrified at them.

As for Seeker, whenever kissing scenes come up, the boy ducks immediately beneath the covers, eyes hidden. Before surfacing calling out 'Is it clear now?' So you can imagine, the Mord Sith implications are totally lost on him.

I think you just have to know your kid and know what they internalize. Boys tend to be far less mature and just don't... get it.

Anywho, hope you enjoy. We caught the season premier of Justified and like WOAH. LOVE Timothy Olyphant, but then, as an avid fan of all things Elmore Leanord, this being his baby, taken from one of his book series', I'm all in.

Sure. I wasn't judging there btw, sorry if it came out that way. I have issues with how the ratings system works in general, not with your kid watching stuff you think it fine. :)

I haven't heard of Justified. I'll look out for it if it comes out here. :)

lol Totally agree. I was surprised at the stuff they were able to air.

*nods* I wasn't expecting it, to be honest. It seemed much more PG before that point. lol
