Decided to be a sheep and copy the masses and show what crap is on my hard drive. That said, I may still one day go back to one or two of these that have future potential. They'd just need heavy re-editing, like everything I do. :P

I find it amusing that I'm getting great glee out of posting this stuff where most people say they are hiding behind their hands. Whatever. Apparently I have no problem with airing dirty laundry in public. \o/

1. Chose a vid, or two, or three, or however many you wish, that you started once upon a time but never did finish. Whether it was because the muse or inspiration left you, or someone else did the song, or you never found the time, or just ended up not liking it---no matter the reason! Show them to us! Through download or stream, it doesn't matter.

2. Tell us the reason you abandoned it. Why did it get shelved, or tossed into the rubbish bin? Why didn't you finish it? Did you ever plan to go back to it? Tell us about it!

3. Tag people!

Gonna reneg on the tagging only in that almost every vidder I know on LJ seems to be doing it already. I haven't a clue who to tag now. Also, first time trying to use Vimeo, so hopefully this works. :)

Okay, so let's see. *rubs hands* What vids to post of the many, many that clutter my hard drive...


1. Supernatural vid to Clint Eastwood
I started this one for someone on the flist (Anniehow?) who wanted a SPN vid to it and suggested it was a good YED song. I don't know why I never continued it, probably lack of clips and the fact that the YED is way too talky and I hate talky clips. With all the back story we have no, I guess I could continue it one day.

2. Spooks Adam Carter vid
After I finally got over Tom, I fell in love with Adam Carter and then he got blown to... Anyway, I was trying to make a vid of the series of events leading up to him becoming more and more reckless and unstable. I actually quite like this one and plan to one day finish it, but as it's been a while since I watched the show, I'd really need to sit down with the series again to remember the plot twists and the good scenes, so it won't happen any time soon. (Toward the end I was just placing possible clips there.)

3. Creepy Doll.
I was totally having fun making this for caffeinekitty's request as posted to spn_sceneit and then the great Vegas crash of '09 happened. Suddenly I couldn't vid anything, only sound clips would come up and I was just stuffed. I came back to it once I got Vegas working months later, but I was having trouble finding good clips and I was no longer sure of the texture I chose and... *sigh* I want to finish this one. It's such a fun AU idea. It will be finished... one day. I hope. Maybe. *hands*

4. Until it sleeps - SPN season overview
This one was started for an SVS season overview challenge and I combined it with a request someone over on SVS posted for someone to vid this Apocalyptica song. Awesome song, y/y? In fact I quite like the vid up until the clips of Dean and the kid etc. That somehow didn't fit and it started to go the way of random clips. It needed a lot more thought as to the direction of the overview. Then I missed the challenge deadline and it just fell off my radar.

5. SGAxSPN crossover
This was made for a Kawoosh crossover challenge, but again I missed the deadline. I chucked credits on it, but decided it was just too unfinished to post to public viewing and then never fixed it up any further. The idea was all about imagery. The opening Stargate, the opening hells gate, monsters, shooting, etc - all sort of juxtaposed in a way that I hoped was a bit artistic. I didn't really get away with it though. Pity.

6. Life on Mars - Eye of the Tiger
My one and only attempt at a LOM vid. It was back when Vegas was still all new to me, so there's issues in it (the "Get Ready to Rumble" doesn't spin fast enough and is out of aspect ratio for example) I could fix now. I mostly just stalled because I only watched the series once and wasn't that familiar with the footage. Maybe, like with the Spooks vid, I'll get back to it one day after watching the series again. I have it on DVD now. :) I also wonder if it doesn't flash people to an epileptic fit.

Hey, I really liked the Clint Eastwood one! I can see where a YED vid would be difficult to tackle because of all the talking heads but I really liked where you were going with it!

Thanks! There is some more clips these days with all the back story eps, so it may be possible. Darn Yed talks a LOT though. :P I did think it a great song suggestion for the character.

Oh no, the file is still there. It was just months before I could retrieve it and use Sony Vegas again and I'd lost the verve for it.

Wow Lizzie! Now there's some unfinished vids! (And here I was stressing about 2!)

You know, I really really like that first one. "the future is coming on"!!!! That's like the best line for YED ever! I also love that song! I agree some of the talkies could be taken out, but yeah - I really enjoyed that! :)

And Spooks! Yay! I loved the opening beat work and editing. :D:D

And Until it Sleeps was really cool. Adore that piece of music. Shame you didn't finish it.

And of course, Life on Mars = FTW. I haven't seen any LOM vids and I LOVE that show. So I really enjoyed watching that one. :D :D

I've pretty much always finished vids I've started... but if they don't work then I don't bother re-editing... so, that's my idea of abandonment...
