So weirdly, cos everyone else seems to have loved this one, I didn't really like this ep. I cackled like a loon at the opening with Castiel and then at the "Route 666" sign, but after that I was a bit *whatever*.

I think my brain was waiting for John Conner and some Terminators to pop up from behind a building.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, I'm just not going OMG!yay. I loved that Sam told Dean about being Lucifer's vessel, but I didn't like that that didn't being them back together naturally. Dean had to be pushed to it by fear that Sam would say "yes" and the world would end. *pouts* But whatever. I don't wanna be a buzz kill. I can rationalise everything, but I don't like it. It felt contrived and like the scene with the brothel, the bits with hippy!Cas felt pretty darn contrived. There were lolz there (I lol-ed, don't get me wrong), but it felt contrived.

Lucifer!condom Sam was awesome. With the smirky face. OMG! Such fun! *licks him* Okay, I did enjoy some of it *cough*. :P

I can see that. I'm just happy they're together again.
And Lucifer!sam was sexy wasn't he? I like evil!sam when it's not permanent. Yes Kripke I'm lookng at you!

I was weirdly looking forward to more separate story time actually, but I know I'm probably alone on that. I just wanted to develop the characters a bit away from the now constant brother angst...but the way they came back together... it's right back where it was really. *shrugs* But like I say, I'm not really fussed and certainly not being a buzz kill. It's SPN and it's ma show right now. I always enjoy it. :)

Ya I thought they'd prolong it a bit more too. Maybe if they hadn't done the Sam vessel reveal so early it could've gone another episode. But I'm glad that Sam told Dean right away. I'm just curious what's going to happen because they've kind of said we're showing you Lucifer!sam now because it's not gonna happen so get it while you can. Or maybe that's just my wishful thinking.

Maybe, I got nothing. *shrugs* I like it that way though. Bring on the Kripke plan and amaze me. :P

My reactions are usually opposite to fandom's so I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked this week's ep (though, I'm kind of over the time travel life lessons.) I think a lot of my good vibes were due to the acting. Jensen was pretty badass and I enjoyed Jared getting to use his powers of emo to the extreme for Lucifer. In all fairness, the storylines are so out there at this point, it's pretty hard to judge.

"I think my brain was waiting for John Conner and some Terminators to pop up from behind a building"

HA! Dean vs. Christian Bale. Crackapocafic!

"I was weirdly looking forward to more separate story time actually, but I know I'm probably alone on that."

I was really looking forward to it as well, but after seeing last week's show (one that made it onto my list of hated eps) I'll take them back together.

"Lucifer!condom Sam was awesome."

*snort* Okay thanks. Now I'm never getting that image out of my head XD

I liked some of last week's episode.

It was Dean's turn of phrase, not mine.

I loved this episode and I am so glad the brothers are back together again. It really did seem the only way it to happen, for Dean to get it back in his head that he has to look out for his little brother, to see what the future would be like when he didn't. Jensen was amazing in this ep!

Lucifer!condom Sam was awesome.

lol! Yes he was and fun to see!

I know you all enjoyed it. Jensen did do a great job with the material he was given, no doubt about it. Like I said, I'm not a whiny fan or a buzz kill. It just didn't work for me in the same way it seemed to for everyone else. It didn't seem that realistic, but then...the way the plot rolls these days, maybe that's impossible.

The only thing that seemed realistic was the Croatoan virus being back...I mean they were testing it for something. But I've heard people whining about that on their LJs, so I'm on some totally different page to you all this week. lol

Dean had to be pushed to it by fear that Sam would say "yes" and the world would end.

I didn't see it that way at all. I saw it as Dean learning that he will go completely off the rails if he tries to live his life without Sam. The shock and horror on his face when future!Dean said that he hadn't spoken to Sam at all since that phone call... he honestly hadn't wanted it to last forever, no matter what he'd said to Sam in that moment. He'd been trying to protect them both and to protect the world, but the actual reality of life without Sam? Scared the crap out of him. That was why he called Sam. I mean, he didn't even debate it within himself, or angst over should I or shouldn't I, or roll his eyes and clench his jaw like it was something he really didn't want to do... the VERY FIRST SECOND he could possibly whip out his cellphone, he did, and said it was what he should have done in the first place. His plan to save the world by staying away from his brother wasn't going to work, so... he wanted his brother back, dadnabbit. I loved it.

Like I said I could rationalise it if pushed, but that isn't how I see it, so we can agree to disagree. :)

I will agree that there was the aspect of Dean realising he might lose some of his humanity without someone he loves around, but mostly he's back to where they were after John's secret in S2... He's trying to save his brother. I wonder if he'll even tell him what Zach really did. And most disappointing is that Sam didn't get to prove himself. I really wanted Sam and Dean to meet up in a battle and just fall into having each other's backs, because the trust is still there... it just needs to be relearned.

I dunno. Whatever. I don't have the rigt words and I'm not going to bother trying to get them out anyway, since it obviously wasn't the plan from the writers and the writers are always right.
