Finally got to watch it.

So cool! I was giggling, and laughing (and my sister thought there was something wrong with the budgies, and I freaked her out, added he he he).

I agree, on the nitpicky side, that the extra frames where it flashes, on the whole were more annoying than effective. There were a couple of bits were that *did* work really nicely though. Very well chosen bits to use for it, and very well done!

I might see whether my sister will watch it later.

Oh, and you reminded me of watching the movie when I was a kid, mum and dad had taped it off the tv, and cut out the scene that is vaguely "sexual". Well, at least I think it is, because I've never seen that bit! Just made me giggle.

Hee! Thanks! OK so next time, I'll try something other than the flashing frames. Meh I should have tried some of the effects I guess. Should it freak me out that I'm saying "next time"?

I only have vague recollections of the movies, especially the giant marshmallow man, but I know I used to love them. I think I'll have to visit the video store. :D

*giggles* I loved it!!! *bounces* ♥ ♥ That was awesome. I can't believe that was your first vid. You did a fantastic job on it.

Thanks! The idea has been in my head forever, but I finally figured out how to use WMM and make it reality. It's fun and mildly addictive.

From: [identity profile] betagoddess.livejournal.com

That was great. Thanks for the second link, because with the filefront thingy, I would've had to register and sign in and frankly, I can't be bothered to sign in to yet ANOTHER place. =>}

I can't wait to see what else you'll come up with! Thanks again!

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

That's odd. I just tried it and I didn't have to sign in. You can use any of the download links from the blue table labeled "Hosted Files Free Public Servers!" without signing in. I'm with you on the general annoyance of signing into things though. :p

Anyway, glad you liked it. It was so much fun to make. *grin*

Oh well. I guess I didn't have the patience to search the page, when I knew you had another format available. Thanks again! I really enjoyed that and shall be enjoying it again and again. =>}

Re: thumbs way up, dude!!!

Thanks muchly hon! Jolly glad you enjoyed it so much!
Yep, definitely my first vid. I just taught myself how to use WMM over the holidays by messing around with all the buttons in the program and when I got back home I just had to try it out...and seriously didn't 'hide and seek' just scream Ghostbusters?...I mean they were trying to trap a ghost-like thing in a sub-space trap! :p

Re: thumbs way up, dude!!!

Phew, I've had thoughts about vidding to this song, and now I don't have to. ;)

Really good job for your first video, too. The only thing I have to say is that there are some quick flashes in between clips of extra frames (Ergh, not sure if I explained it that good.) But other than that, a pretty nice job.

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Thanks!

Um some of those extra frames were deliberate. I was trying to make them go with the drum beats in the music, but I'm not sure it worked too well. I know there's at least one that shouldn't be there though and maybe there are more, but the damn program wouldn't let me cut it out at the time. I must have forgotten about it when I finished it off. hmmm. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. If I make another vid, it's stuff like that I need to remember.

Phew, I've had thoughts about vidding to this song, and now I don't have to
There's something about 80's movie tunes that makes you want to vid them. I have a whole CD of them and it's dnagerous. I keep getting ideas from them, but I simply refuse to vid them. I was only going to make one vid. Maybe I have an addictive personality or something. Hopefully I can hold out. :p

From: [identity profile] toranoko.livejournal.com

I had assumed some were meant to be in the video. But it looked like a few weren't. I'm not sure how big of a deal that is, it's just a pet peeve of mine. lol I know how much of a pain it can be dealing with those though. ><

Ah, the urge to vid. I can't resist. I never seem to finish videos, but that doesn't mean I can't start like.. 20.

Gah now they're frustrating me! I may have to edit for myself. *crinkles nose in annoyance*

From: [identity profile] du-berg.livejournal.com

Haha. It's been ages since a vid made me laugh that loud. That was fantastic! I love Ghostbusters! *wanders off singing*

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Thanks! That's me, increaseing global happiness one sga fan at a time. Glad you liked it :p

From: [identity profile] naewinter.livejournal.com

Wonderful!
I'm all awash in 80's flashbacks now.
I love the 'caught a fish' icon too =D

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Don't cha just love it though. I found a whole CD of 80's movie music tracks in my parents CD collection over the holidays and snaffled them all...now I'm trying not to vid them all. :p

From: [identity profile] naewinter.livejournal.com

I know the feeling, I found a clip of the Gillian's Island theme online! All of a sudden, I'm vidding a Firefly vid to it! I had never vidded before, how did that happen?

From: [identity profile] kelliem.livejournal.com

Downloaded from YSI. That was very cute! Good concept. :)

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Thanks ^_^
Glad you liked it.

(Somehow missed your comment before)

Oh, that's is a really cool and hilarious vid! Love it!

Unfortunately, I couldn't seem to get filefront to work so I could only download the 18.2mb version from YSI. But I'd love to see the 30mb version. Any chance you might load that up to YSI too?

First vid, huh? Well, I really hope that you've been well and truly bitten by the bug - coz I think you've got a gift for this vidding lark!

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Really? Filefront's not working...bummer! Someone else said that, but I thought they just didn't know where to go to download it. I'll have to try it myself...maybe I have to link it differently...like to the specific file or something?? Sure I can load the big version. I'm flattered you'd like it. I'll try from here, but I may not get it up for you until monday. There's a cable connection at work and so I can load it in a few minutes, rather than... well a long time. *Naughty Inge* :P

Awwww Thanks! I'm blushing here. Coming from the vidding champion, that means a lot. *grins* Really it does! Thanks for your helpful tips btw.
Actually one of my friends has given me an SGA vidding challenge I can't refuse...it should be crack!tastic!...if I can manage it :p

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

OK well I uploaded this on my exceedingly slow internet overnight, so hopefully it works. :D

I really enjoyed this - congratulations on your first vid. Oh and I friended you BTW - we have a mutual friend in [livejournal.com profile] derry667, and we seem to enjoy many of the same things. I am also into SGA (thanks to Derry at HUK2005), and BSG. I can understand the problems involved in being a PhD student - I am a university lecturer here in the UK - and a fairly recent PhD graduate (July 2004 - having submitted in Dec. 2003). I must admit a lot of my journal is friends only, due to the fact I have a tendency to ramble about work things - and I don't want all my students (or my colleagues) reading it.....

And I meant to say - contact me (e-mail in my info if you friend me) about space to host your vids that does not involve YSI/filefront etc. I seem to suddenly have rather a lot of webspace going spare :))

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Thanks for the feedback and the friending. It does sound like we have a lot in common and I'll happily friend you back. I really hardly ever talk about my PhD on LJ (since it leads to griping and I try to minimise that outside of real life :p), but if I do it'd be nice to have a few more understanding friends.

If you'd really like to host my vid, I'd be really stoked and thankyou for the kind offer. I'll be in contact. *wanders off to friend you*
