If I were to find myself in the great state of Texas toward the end of April, what marvellous things might I be able to entertain myself with?

Are there things one absolutely must do when visiting Texas? Please do tell!

I'd be visiting someone in Dallas and possibly branching out from there depending on time etc.

Edit: Thanks guys, you're making me really want to go now. I am so going to try to sort my holiday time out ASAP. :)

I believe that the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is open in April and that is a definite must, particularly as a cultural experience. ;) Or the Mesquite Rodeo, which is also nearby and quite good.

Dallas also has the Sixth Floor Museum, which is all about the JFK assassination and is pretty interesting. If you don't want to pay/don't like museums, you might want to at least go by the assassination site. It's marked with an X on the road.

There's some good art museums in town, too.

If you want to go to a zoo, go to the Fort Worth zoo and not the Dallas Zoo.

ummm...that's all I can think of for now, but feel free to ask me anything! (I went to high school in a suburb of Dallas)

Eee! That all sounds WONDERFUL! God I hope I can go. I'm getting all these mixed messages about the time off work now. *pouts* I'm all excited about it already too. Thank you! :)
