starrylizard: Headshot of Ruby from Demons smiling (T - WIN! (Sam))

I'm told that in liking this ep, I'm in the minority. Is that true? I'm afraid to read comments now in case I have my squee ruined. Feel free to point me to logical and safe posts. :)

Actually the ep took on board most of the things I'd imagined and was planning on possibly sticking into a fic, so yay! Kripke'd and terribly happy about it. :)

Did Sam change his T-shirt while talking to Dean? It looks like the same T-shirt, but the blood has disappeared. And Dean hasn't changed... Hmmm

Also, I do love that the angels aren't all "good" and, so it seems (though I'm still waiting for a surprise) the demons may not all be bad. It's certainly adding layers of intrigue to the show.

I really want to watch this ep again. Might do it before I watch the next episode. OMG! Talk about a "To Be Continued" of O_O !!

No way! I loved it lots. Especially because of the fill-in-the-blanks flashbacks and how the whole ep seemed to FLASH by. I was like: "NOOOO! I want more NOW!"

I thought this was a very interesting ep. But I still DO NOT LIKE the new!Ruby. She's not a very believable actress, in my opinion.

Hee! I like new!Ruby, but each to their own.
Glad you liked the ep too. :D

Loved Dean going all "TMI - Now I feel dirty!" lol

I quite enjoyed this ep. The flashbacks of Sam were good, especially with the interruption and Dean's "Now I feel dirty" line... I thought this was particularly effective because of the way the Sam/Ruby scene echoed the Sam/Madison scene in S2 ;)

I like that I don't actually agree with what the Castiel wants to do come the end of the episode... that said, I get the impression he doesn't want to do it, but knows he has to. It's your classic big picture-little picture problem.

I didn't want the ep to end there! I want the next episode now!

Misha Collins (Castiel) is, imo, rocking this show. Man knows how to steal a scene.

Yeah, I was pretty aware of that too. It's like sex is always this guilty moment of passion with Sam. Not that I'm complaining any. O_O *grin*

I just loved the whole ep. I knew eventually they'd give us some more insight into what happened and this was a really effective way to do it. :)

I do like Castiel. I totally buy him as an angel... somewhat alien to the body he's inhabiting. I think it's something in the way he moves and the very specific facial expressions. He's not the draw card for me though, just an added bonus! :)

Oh, don't get me wrong, Ackles is still the primary draw of SPN for me - I'm just saying Collins is putting up a good show. I've raided imdb and am finding a few of his guest appearences on CSI and the like ;)

I liked it. But maybe all the people who've ranted about Sam "doing it with a demon" don't want to give up their positions? I don't know. Haven't read the rants. But any episode that get Jared to take his shirt off is already ahead in my book. I liked the hot-dirty-wrong demon sex. ;) And the angels going after the Angel!radio girl? Even better.

Am also happy to know more about those six months without Dean.

Agreed. Collins is one heck of a believable angel. The unyielding stare is what gets me. Each episode he turns up, I find myself thinking, "Oh, goody gumdrops."

I was actually planning to write fic soon if they didn't let me in on Sam's journey and a LOT (pretty much all) of the stuff I planned to write was in there, so maybe that makes me like it even more. Now I only need to write a ficlet, assuming I ever get the writing bug again, and I'd have it all. \o/

So there with ya! *replays*

Everyone I've talked to so far seems to like the episode, so I mustn't be in the ranty part of fandom ...and I don't plan on looking for it.

I think there was about ten or so posts of people on my flist of 'I hated it' etc.

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

I've seen a few people that seemed to take great offense to the sex scene, but otherwise liked it. *shrugs* Each to their own.

Apart from liking me some Nekkid!Sam, I actually thought the scene added a fair bit to the episode. Sam's hurt and lonely and desperate and eventually takes the comfort offered. In other words, it shows him to still be very human in his hurt. *shrugs* Not sure if that makes sense, cos I'm bad at articulating fandom stuff, but anyway.

It doesn't actually seem to me like I'm in the minority in liking the ep, though the haters are a very loud bunch as usual.

Yep, dont really have to write that fic now!
