I only just managed to check my friends list for the day, only to find it full of sad, hurt, unhappy, angry and downright teary comments because SGA has been cancelled. :(

I just want to wrap you all up in warm blankets and hug you tight, because although I know I've kinda fallen out of love with the show in a squee-tastic fandom way (though I still watch and enjoy it each week), I'm mostly sad because I met so many of you through SGA.

It was my first fandom. My first crazy attempts at fic and vidding. And it brought so many of my long-term LJ friends into my online (and offline) life.

*BIG SMISHES* I love you guys! I hope we still have many lovely things in common in the future.

In the "stranger than fiction" department: I just yesterday decided to finally give this show a proper chance! Uhhhhh... I think I killed the show by deciding to watch it, oh noes! *runs and hides before fandom finds her* O_O ;)

Seriously, though, thanks for the link because I've only been hearing bits and pieces and didn't know where everybody was getting the news from. *leaves cookies for all of the SGA fans who read this and, you know, are thinking I kinda killed their show by showing interest in it* I'm so sorrrrrrry! O_O *runs* ;)

Aww! I'm sure that's not the case. I'd still watch SGA for kicks. The first 2 seasons in particular were made of awesome! It's sort of been on the cards that the show would go down soon...maybe. Though I was enjoying the new characters this season, actually, so that's kinda sad.

Awwww. I have to admit I'm kiiiind of indifferent because I stopped watching sometime mid-season 3, but I had so much fun in the fandom and I still love the first two seasons. So I sympathise with the rest of the fandom.

Yeah, see that's about when I lost my fandom glee too, but I was still watching it and reading bits of fic and it was my first fandom and where most of my f-list hail from. Like you! You and Mist and CW and Sushi were the first people I didn't know in person who I talked to on MSN. I kid you not. lol

Yep, thank you! Assuming you mean in an SGA way. I'm fine with SGA ending, really. It sort of feels like it's had a pretty good run. *hugs*

I was maybe gonna email you about some other stuff though. Out of curiosity, mostly. *smish*

Actually I just meant in a general 'how's you and life and stuff' kinda way =)

Sure - email away, it'd be good te hear from you actually =)

*hugs*

Life's okay. Work is boring, though it's also like a strange comedy of errors that I'm so very glad I am not in charge of. I'm mostly over the stomach flu and so very glad it's friday. I even got paid this week. :)

I emailed you, but I kinda forgot exactly what I was gonna say. lol

Oh and: How are you? I am so very rude. *smish*

Oh, man. We're still at the beginning of the season and already I'm feeling nostalgic. *sigh*

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Yeah, I know. Plus I liked the new characters this season. But at least it'll probably get to go out with a proper bang rather than a whimper. *hugs*

[livejournal.com profile] telesilla is holding a blanket fort party in her journal. There they are telling stories of the big one of '42 the cancellation of the original Star Trek and how it continued through the power of fans.

It made me feel better.

Aww! Sounds lovely! Glad it's helping! Reminds me too, that I still want to get my hands on Enterprise. *hugs*

Awww, I'm late, but ditto on most of what you said. May our fandoms cross again! *attempts Galaxy Quest-like salute*

Maybe I'll get Netflix and start catching up on Doctor Who. I'm so behind on all the scifi/fantasy shows -- I'm watching Dead Zone and Jeremiah reruns on the weekends!

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Deadzone was kinda fun. I used to watch it sometimes late at night. I've never seen Jeremiah though. *smishes and salutes you back*
