In Reverse by Sodakey
Set in S1 between Faith and Route 666, Dean and Sam are investigating a case in Lander Wyoming. Things get complicated when a bunch of Sam's college friends turn up and recognise him. Suddenly they're trying to protect Sam's clueless friends, as well as solve the case - which, just to make it harder, seems to be related to a case from their childhood.
The author juggles so many original characters perfectly, giving them each a personality and spark of their own, while writing a darn good John, Dean and Sam. Lots of well written hurt/comfort, brotherly interaction, outsider pov's, and a case that has you guessing from the get-go.
It's gen, it's epic (31 chapters, probably about the length of you're average novel), it's fantastic! Go Read!
