OMG! There are just no words to tell you how freaked out I was today!!

OK so I was running late for the gym. I jumped into my little mazda 121 and headed off down the road, made it to the carpark safe and sound ...when I see something scuttle across the window!

OK so as if that isn't creepy enough, I stayed calm and parked the car, then carefully climbed out and looked around for whatever had done the scuttling...

THERE WAS NOT ONE, BUT TWO FRAKING HUGE HUNTSMAN SPIDERS RUNNING AROUND ON MY CAR!!!

TWO OF THEM! Aaaaarrrrg!

For those non-Australians, while huntsman spiders aren't poisonous, they can still give a nasty bite and they can get very, very big. These ones were not anywhere near the biggest I've ever seen, but with their big, hairy legs out, they were about the size of the palm of my hand.

So yeah, here I am going "shit, shit, shit!" I mean it's not like I can leave them there; I have to drive home after gym! So, I finally found a new use for my BodyCombat/TKD skills! I front-kicked two spiders into oblivion ...and they were moving quickly too! I'm actually kinda proud that my aim was so darn good! Maybe it was the adrenalin?

"Heeya! Starrylizard the spider killer!"

...and yes, after gym I some how managed to build up the courage to drive home. I'm so out there with a can of Mortein tomorrow!!

A list of ways frontkicks have come in useful so far in my life:
* Killing frakking huge spiders on your car
* Opening and closing lab doors when your hands are full
* Scaring random boys into submission ...hehehe!
* Oh and then there's always self-defense, though as yet I haven't needed that one.

HEE!!! *is so very very amused* Though, ick. Huntmen are big spiders.

I just went to look at a spider site. *so very very wigged out now*

Oh always happy my abject fear amuses my flist!!

Yes they are evil spiders!! They can jump down onto you from heights too! *shivers*

Yeah, we do. I think. I can't really tell the difference between huntsmens and wolfies.

I still can't figure out whether, in Year 6, it was a wolfie or a huntsman crawling round my hair. When I brushed it out, I bumped my knee and it got wrecked for a while.

And I haven't actually seen a spider in a while. *touches wood* A big one, anyway. Apart from a dream I had the other night (it scared me awake.)

Heeee! I didn't realise till I felt something tickling my head.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!
I hate spiders!
You were so damn proud hun!
I’m so glad it’s winter over here all the spiders hibernate (and you wonder why I like winter so much? :P) but when it’s getting warmer they all come back and are huge, not as huge as your huntsman but big enough to scare the crap outta me! *shudder*

*headdesk* instead of proud I meant brave.
That's what you getting when writing English posts and German forums at the same time :P

OK good. Proud and brave little girlie *gg* (sorry watched duet last night :P)

Oh I LOVE that episode! Especially when he's playing rock/paper/scissors with himself and all....soooo good! Now I want to watch it again.

*sitting here eeking and squirming*

I. Hate. Spiders.

Is very very proud of you for kicking them into oblivion, although you should possibly know about the boy that kicked a spider that was on the wall (huge apparently) at a camp recently down south and broke his leg in two places.

I always hate it when it's me and one of my friends on at the observatory, as I have to deal with any spider issues. *shudders*

Hmmmm! Well I didn't break my leg. I was more worried about the car's paint job than my leg, but both are intact. Late night observatory spider killing sounds nasty! *shudders with you*

I am not too bothered by spiders on the whole - but then again we don't have many of the size you are talking about here in the UK....

But well done in finding a use for your training :)

At least huntsman spiders aren't poisonous. Last time we found spiders in my dad's car and it was a whole nest of redback spiders sitting near the nice warm engine. You should've seen the mechanic jump!! Those are deadly! It was a very mortein sprayed car after that!

Dude, my friend Megan would just die if she saw the spiders. She's afraid of little itty-bitty spiders that you can barely see. It's quite amusing.

I keep telling her if she sees a spider, don't run away. Hit it with a book or just step on it. But nooo...

Hit it with a book or just step on it. But nooo...
Next time tell her to fron-kick it...works a charm!

*does her best not to laugh but it isn't working* Hehee, you front-kicked the spiders! Go you. I would not be happy either to have huge spiders making a new home ontop or in my car. My mom's cat, Koko, is queen of the house and is in charge of 'taking care,' by anymeans, of spiders in the house.

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Oh I need to clone your cat and adopt it!! I'd name it Killer and set it loose in my car! *grins*
I guess I'll just settle for a large can of Mortein for the moment.

*lol* I just saw that movie, Airborne, where Torri's character names her cat Killer. *clones her cat for you*

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

Oooooh! How did you see that movie *cough* dl-able? I must be on Torri's wavelength. *happily accepts cloned cat* "Sick 'em Killer!"

From: [identity profile] lightz474.livejournal.com

Unfortunately, I couldn't find it by the ehmm dl way so I bought it. The movie is actually pretty good. If you are a Torri fan then I definitely recommend watching the movie. :D
