Who can pick the clips from Mistojen's vids and what about from my vid "The Heist" (clue: Sepia)? She even left in the transitions. *shakes head* I know they don't belong to us, yada yada, but it's not exactly original and in SPN fandom there are sites to dl clips from.
What makes me most sad is that all the clips that we recognise are from vids posted at SVS and yet she's never commented to tell us she likes them. That's actually what miffs me. I'm deep-down just a little old comment whore. :P
You've made Sam sad. Look at his little face.
EDIT: Oooh please don't go over and hurl abuse at the girl on my account. There's plenty there already. I've just never had that happen before. It's new for me. Or at least I'm usually oblivious to it. :P

I wonder if their vid could be taged as being inappropriate.
Nah, I doubt that you'd want to tag it. That would just pull attention to vids in general which would be bad.

On the one hand, the person is a bit of and idiot. Or possibly just young and stupid. I followed the link back to her bio and it says age 20, but frankly a lot of people in fandom seem to be twenty-going-on-twelve (or even fifty-going-on-twelve). It's inconsiderate and it's somewhat naive to think it won't be spotted (especially when you use clips that have obviously been manipulated in some way).
But... on the other hand, I find the towering incandescent fury that these people are blasted with to be a little over the top.
And it's not as if it hasn't happened to me too. It has (and the not even commenting about my vid where clips came from thing too). And when I pointed out to the person (privately and rather politely for me - rather than lambasting them in public forums and threatening dire retribution) they got all defensive about how none of us own the clips anyway. Which kind of proved that they hadn't really listened to what I'd said anyway because I'd actually acknowledged that and all I was trying to say was to warn them that while I wasn't inclined to make a fuss about it, if someone else caught them doing it they could end up in a real firestorm. And if they continued, they probably did coz they weren't very clever about it either. And the really funny thing is, if they'd asked me then I would have said to go ahead because I really don't mind.
It's a touchy subject, I know. And I know that some (possibly most) people are way more possessive of their fannish creations than I am.
But I really dislike hate-campaigns and victimisation - even the victimisation of idiots. So yeah, what the "clip thief" did definitely wasn't cool - but neither is a lynch mob IMHO.

It's just that's what seems to happen in these situations, from what I've seen in the past. Although some of the comments apart from yours were a tad more "aggressive" (IMHO)
I just think that it worth at least giving the person the benefit of the doubt the first time - assume that it's done out of ignorance or maybe even shyness - tell them politely that it's not considered good form and maybe they might want to consider that. If they don't listen, then maybe it justifies "going to war". Although, I prefer to just let them go on their merry way - coz I know there are TONS of people out there ready to flay them alive for the transgression and they'll come across that soon enough. I mean, if you post your vids in a public forum then you obviously want them to be seen - and if they are seen by a significant number of people then it'll be worked out.
Hmmm... reminds me a bit of that chick who tried to sell her Star Wars fanfic on Amazon...
Oh, and I can't even see the vid because I'm at work and they've disabled YouTube for some reason. Can't think why. ;-P

I do know exactly what you mean though, which is why I was trying to be carefully non-agressive. Also, like you, if she'd commented on my vid, or even just asked if it was okay, I probably wouldn't have cared all that much.

Okay, then you're basically dealing with an idiot. Although continuing to use watermarked clips would seem to indicate that she really doesn't care - and hence probably won't care that much about the lynch mob either.
Forgive me for being Evil again, but I'm off to snicker in the corner now...

I'm seriously amused by it all, and yet feel the need to comment. It's my fickle personality. :P

I fear I've become incredibly hoity-toity. But then again, life too short to watch stuff you don't like.
