Widdershins (3parts complete)
By angstslashhope - Supernatural. John, Dean and Sam. Gen (pre-series). Rated R for horror themes. 22,000+ words. Iowa. October 1984.)
Personally, Im not sure why exactly it has an R-rating. I must look at these things differently, because I would have said maybe Teen. *shrugs*
Anyway, this is just an awesome fic, with everything just connecting in a circular way that makes my mind boggle.
John comes across as such a loving father, dealing with harsh circumstances and trying to look after a 5 yr old Dean and baby Sam. The boys are so gentle with each other and it's interesting to see a story set with them at such a young age.
That said, this story is really about John, the love for his children and the life he leads. Truly delightful, lovely and descriptive in a non-boring way and the supernatural elements will keep you guessing until the very end (at which point you'll want to read it again).
Go read. Seriously!

I'm the same when I rate my own stories. I usually pick a higher rating than it truly deserves if I'm worried. I was just pointing out my own opinion, not judging. :)
For some reason, I relate R with seriously over the top horror/blood/gore/ick or really kinky sex. Certainly on Ausralian TV, I notice there is a lot of violence (to the point I don't want to watch it) that only rates an M, but maybe I'm too sensitive.
I'm wandering through your journal, avoiding the wincest though, so if I suddenly leave a flurry of comments, don't feel obliged to answer them all. *grins*
SPN is my new obsession. :)
