I've pretty much exhausted any ideas I've had on this, so I thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone knows something about comics.
My dad really wants this comic he read when he was a kid and I keep trying to get it for him for birthdays, but I can never find the damn thing.
So, it starred a male superhero character called The Spectrum or Spectrum(?), Spectra(?) (He's not quite sure). His alter ego though was a guy called Roy G. Biv (like the colours of the spectrum - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet).
The comic was a freebie in a showbag in Australia about 40 years ago, which I'm told was a "golden age" for comics and it's like a needle in a haystack to find. I'm also aware that the character could be a small character in another comic that just got his own comic for a bit for some reason, so if you have leads on any comic he may have been in, that's fine too.
Would anyone know of message boards, or forums where comic-lovers discuss these things, or buy/sell comics? Maybe a comic database?
I'd love to get it for dad one of these days and I will pay quite handsomely (Whatever that means within the small budget of a PhD student) for this one little comic. Within reason of course.

Lost a few letter there huh!
Yet you (Americans) insist of saying "tuna fish," when the rest of the world can say "tuna," safe in the knowledge that yes, it is a fish, but you don't have to spell it out.
Then I remember the unfortunate experience of watching an episode of newly weds and realise why this is important to you... :P No dear it isn't chicken. O_O
EDIT: Not trying to be offensive here, just musing, since my spell-checker insists on being American and it's annoying me.

Also, it was pointed out in Mcalex's LJ that Shep has a headphone in on top of the normal radio, then in the next shot it's gone. He must have forgotten to remove it before they started filming. Silly Joe! I think it's kinda sexy though and somehow makes him look like a little like a bouncer. :)
On a different note, there are some great entries in the 1 minute vidding challenge over at Kawoosh. All stargate-related vids and all under 1 minute long.
Monsie's It's Not The Fall That Hurts is such a funny-cute Rodney vid, dkwilliams' Beer, Beer, Beer is fabulously funny, HyperCaz's Cultural Differences is a sweet Disney take on Teyla/Sheppard, Nibikko's Weird Science just cracked me up, spacecadet's Insomnia is a brilliantly edited Daniel vid with great effects and Sache8's Supersoldiers takes off the BSG theme to perfection.
