How weird is this? You can now stream my Flaunt Those Eyebrows vid from Filefront. None of the other files do this. It just appeared. *blinky*

I also made a little vid for icarusancalion's John/Rodney ice skating wip Out of Bounds. It's a great little wip, though it trundles along very slowly. John as an iceskater is really a very sexy idea. :)

Anyhow, this is sort of a rough beta-version vid (ie. if I was to watch this I'd probably con. crit myself...very nicely of course :P) I was just feeling very pleased with myself for managing to get things off youtube and convert to avi. so I had a play with the files. :)

I'm going home for the long weekend tonight. My dad was all happy and bouncy. My sister is staying with him for a few weeks too, so he has both of us!

Dad: We can all set up our laptops in the same room and have company while we work.
Me: Yay! *eyeroll*
Dad: It'll be nice. *very enthusiastic*
Me: Sure, I'll bring my thesis chapters to work on dad.
Dad: *bounces* We can have wine and coffee (dad does this...apparently they balance each other - alert, but relaxed *grins*), put on incense and mellow music and work together.

I love my work-a-holic family! No, really, it even sounds nice to me.

Oh and Dad just had to add: Now your sister can cook for both of us.
He was obviously saying it right in front of my sister. Cheeky bugger! I heard the *thwak* down the phone line and the ensuing tickle-fight?...or something. :P

Then mum sent me an sms: Enjoy the trip home. Look after your dad, give him lots of cuddles and please brush the cat.

*giggles* Apparently I'm the only person that ever gets enough fur off the cat. She loves it when I brush her - purrs like a mad thing. The funny thing being that I'm really rough, I brush hard enough you can see the cat's eyes popping out of her skull, yet she loves it! :P
Dad and my sis have been complaining non-stop about the cat's fur this summer. They have both brushed her, but apparently it makes no difference.

Finally, it's raining today! Whee! Everything smells good and looks green. :) It'll be hot later though. It already feels like a sauna. Hopefully it put out a few fires. Those water bombing helicopters and the fire crews have been working non-stop.

Yes, it's bloody humid. But, the rain is good. All the helicopters other than Shania seemed to be on the oval when I left home, so here's hoping that this is really helping.

I know exactly what you mean about brushing the cat. And dude, at my uncle's house a social gathering is 5 computers all running and occupied in the living room ^_^ Good times!

And I'm totally going to have to at least threaten to pick your brain about vidding once I've got my 14 Valentines done.

That was my family growing up, though less computers. We only had one computer and mostly we'd be reading actual text books and writing in (gosh no way!) pen! :P Good times indeed. :)

Pick my brain huh? Sounds painful.
Nah, feel free. That's how I learnt. I just wish I could get even one of the other vidding programs to work on my desktop. WMM is nice, but the other programs are shiny! I can never get them to work properly on my PC though. Not enough memory methinks. :P

I'm going to be using WMM as well, because it's free, and that's a serious consideration for me at the moment. I shall look forward to a painless sharing of knowledge.

Yeah, in earlier years it was a bunch of people reading and a few on the computers (sometimes my uncle even reads aloud), but in recent years it's become 4-people-playing-Age of Empires and someone else reading/playing with the dog/cat/misc neighborhood kid.

It was fun playing with the skating footage. I couldn't believe the quality of the file I managed to get off youtube for the iceskating.

I've simply been hanging around vidding forums enough now, that I can see all sorts of ways to improve it and I'd love to find a bit more footage and make a longer version. :)
