I found a nest o' spiders in my car boot (trunk for you Americans) this afternoon and dealt with the three large spiders and nest o' baby ones without too much squealing and I was very proud.
BUT... I just found another nest of them IN MY KITCHEN! Ahhhhhhhhrrrrg!
Killed them. Sorry to the pacifists, but I really can't capture and release that many, no way na ahh, not gonna happen. The momma spider was BIG too, maybe 2cm long and all bulbousy!
Anyway, I'm now creeped out. Really creeped out. They were in my house. I'm jumping at shadows... I looked them up on the web and they may be black house spiders, which are apparently venomous, but not lethal. Well could be worse I guess. *whimpers and hides*

Actually, well done. Congrats. I think it's great that you managed to get the first nest out alive!
Especially given that you live in Sydney. You have FUNNEL WEBS. 0.o
(My rule for spiders: If I know they're not venomous (or I'm unsure and they're small) they get to live. If they're big and/or I know they're venomous, they get to meet Mr Shoe.)

Hee, I wasn't that kind. I cleaned them off with a broom and then sprayed the boot with bug spray, because I just know that if one popped up while I was driving I'd so crash. So if they didn't already make themselves known they may have met their end via bug spray. I really cannot stand them in my house though. I have to sleep here!!!
Funnel webs tend to live in the ground, so I was pretty sure it wasn't one of those. I think they may have been these black spider things which can bite and cause all sorts of nasty symptoms, but apparently won't kill you. :(
*uses her exhorcist icon* Seems appropriate somehow. :P

Oh, yes. Spiders in my room don't survive very long. In the lounge room, it's a little different. (I came out the other morning to discover a rather large huntsman hanging onto the curtain. Me: *flail* However, it was a huntsman so I did the container+magazine thing.)
Funnel webs terrify me! I've never seen one before but the whole most-venomous-spider-in-the-world thing isn't very conducive to "Ooh, I love you spider!" Yay QLD and it's lack of them.
Well, the not-dying thing is good.
Your icon is indeed very appropriate. *searches own* I'll use the guy who kills monsters.
