Okay, so my attempt to do social stuff is a few steps closer. I won't be a hermit much longer. I hope.
I want to check out the Tai Chi place on Fridays. I should call them to be sure I have the details right. It's really close by and in the suburbs. :)
Then, I'm going to try meditation on Thursday. Should be interesting, since (and Rinne in particular I think has noticed this...) I don't sit still well. But I love a challenge...
The hunt for a Tae kwon do dojang is coming along nicely...sorta weirdly.
I really want to do Rhee again, just because it's what I used to do, but I'd settle for a similar style. Anyway, this has been really interesting to track down a Rhee dojang...keeping in mind that Master Chong Yoon Rhee, one of the founding brothers of the style lives here in Sydney!!
So, I tried internet searching and yellow pages to no avail.
I then found a few martial arts comms here on LJ and looked hopefully at people there.
j3ffu (Hi man, be prepared; I'm a stargate nut and I read well everything...) gave me a link for the Perth webpage and an email.
So, the guy in Perth emails me the email address for an instructor here, who is in the Western suburbs...
...who gave me an email for a guy in the eastern suburbs (Closest one is Ultimo, so that's a bit tough to get to in rush hour traffick across the bridge *meep* and parking there would be a nightmare)...
...but he gave me Master Rhee's phone number (Can you believe it!!?!) to phone him and ask about Northside dojangs, because he doesn't have the details. So now I have to call Master Rhee. Excuse me if I find that intimidating. *blinky*
And if all that fails, there is another Tae kwon do dojang right nearby that I emailed through their website. The guy was really welcoming and apparently they do the same patterns as Rhee. Promising, no?
So now I'm all psyched about doing some of this stuff, but I'm away from Thursday to Sunday (wedding to attend and parents to see...YAY!), so I'll have to try it all next week.
Gonna see a movie tonight with
yokiem. The dancing one with the guy that becomes a ballet dancer... have forgotten the name now.
EDIT: Freaking yeah! There be a Rhee TKD dojang in my suburb! Woo! And the saga is complete and successful! *bounces*

Yay!!! You've found a place to go. That's great.
Well, I'm going to dinner and then bowling tonight, so I'm going to have fun too. :-P

How was the bowling?

Bowling was fun. We ended up playing three games. I won two and got two strikes, so I was pretty happy. We were all pretty shocking though.
Killed two nails and my feet are hurting today.

Yay for winning. I love bowling. I used to do it occasionally with my college friends, but it's been ages. You always end up with weird aches the next day, because those balls are heavy. :P
The movie was pretty good. I love dancing movies and the dance they do at the end is pretty speccy! There are so few movies I want to watch these days.

There HAD to be a dojang nearby, seeing as Sydney is significantly bigger than Perth XD

Thanks again for the lead.
