On Amazon.com - Apprently there is now an Amazon.com.au. SHIT!
We're pleased to inform you that you can now shop for eBooks, apps and games at Amazon.com.au. We have been working hard to bring you a great selection of eBooks, including Australian best sellers and many titles that are exclusive to Kindle. You will also have access to Amazon Appstore’s great selection of quality Android apps, games and a growing library of Australian favourites. Now I haven't purchased anything from Amazon.de, but can they really do that? I mean this is stuff people have PAID for. This is where hard copy is so much better. They can't revoke your access to a paperback, just because they want more money.
I bet these ebooks are at least twice the price too. F-ing Australia Tax -- the term we use to describe the fact that all electronic goods, though purchased form the same site on the net as Americans use, will cost us up to 10x (I kid you not) more than if we had an American IP address. *GAH!*

I wouldn't recommend buying form there, as they are usually expensive (JB HiFi is cheaper), but it's a nice place to browse. :)

You know, that's one reason why I've been so uneasy about making a total jump over to digital for things like books, because, EXACTLY, they can't (yet ;) ) come to your house and yank your paperbook away from you because of a policy change/glitch/desire to make you have to buy it again and pay more for it this time/etc. :S
