Had a DVD night with Derry and Mcalex last night. What fun! I don't think I've stayed up like that for years. The really amusing thing is now I can hardly recall us actually watching anything. I mean we did, but we mostly just talked over the top of them, but that's cool, because it was nice to chat fannish stuff and "geek out"! At 5am I think I was analysing the characters more than I ever had.

I do find it highly amusing that I'm very quiet next to Derry and Mcalex, which I believe says alot more about how quiet the rest of my friends are that they seem to think I'm rather loud. *grins* I like being able to listen for once. I think my friends in the lab need to get a little more chatty.

We watched some of BOBW convention DVD's and David Hewlett, Paul McGillion and David Nykl are just so sweet. I wish I'd been fannish back then so I could have seen them all in person. For some reason I thought the con video would be rather boring, but they really are such sweet guys that it's not the case at all. I would have watched more.

So, we were at Derry's place from about 6pm and I left at around 6am. Turned the heater to high and sat for a bit waiting for my car to defog. Sydney driving on a Sunday morning at 6am is actually a lot like driving in Canberra! First time I've ever noticed that about driving in Sydney. Maybe I should attempt to become a morning person? Nah!

Got home and had a shower, had breakfast and slept from about 8:30-11:30am when my sister called. We're still trying to plan this surprise party for my mum's birthday, though I'm not very useful here in Sydney. Poor sis is coordinating it all, since dad is a bit useless about this stuff. Anyway, when I was home last weekend, we picked a nice necklace for mum and my sister has also got a nice plant in mind for their garden. I think she said it was a burgonia, but don't quote me on it; me and plants just don't get along.

Maybe it was just that it was getting into the wee hours of the morning, but I started to wonder if I'd been griping waaay to much in my journal this morning. Paranoid me just scrolled through the last few pages of entries to reassure myself that I wasn't being a real drag on the flist. Teehee! Yes, little sleep makes me paranoid and I never actually thought I'd meet anyone that reads my LJ. Suddenly very self-conscious. *grins*

Random question, but has anyone been able to load a document on fanfiction.net in the last 24 hours? I can't seem to upload anything, but I don't know if it's my connection, or a site issue. I can load everything else on the site fine.

My Spam count is now at 364 comments. I'm still aimimg for 1000, so feel free to drop a comment. Anything at all. I've been enjoying how completely random the spam is. There was an RR going in the comments for a little while that cracked me up big time. Plus, I'm currently beating [livejournal.com profile] _wwsd_'s spam count. Teehee! *gloats*

...and now, I must clean bathrooms. Oh the joy!

How cool! It sounds like you had an awesome night with friends. I wish that I could convert my friends to watch scifi with me. They are so not cool!

It was awesome!
I met these guys on LJ though, so no conversion necessary. They are actually more fanish than me, or at least they've been at it longer. I have converted Yokiem though, for which I am proud. One day I will get her to get an LJ and her conversion will be complete.

Lol, how cool! Yeah, I've only managed to convert other lj friends to watch some of my favorite fandoms such as BSG and Bones. Real life people are soooo much harder to convert when the only thing they watch is Veronic Mars. *facepalm*

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

I've been watching BSG on the dl...must remember to watch the last few actually...but I've never seen Bones. From your icons I assume David Boreanaz is in it, so I'd watch just for that. I wish Australian TV would catch up. What's the show about?

From: [identity profile] lightz474.livejournal.com

Yup, Bones has David Boreanaz in it and Emily Deschanel. It's an investigative drama that is inspired by the real-life forensic anthropologist Kathy Reich. But basically it is Booth-played by David, is an FBI guy who helps Brennan aka Bones(- Emily Deschanel) solve cases. It's pretty amusing and Booth and Bones have a mulder/scully vibe going on.

Glad you guys had so much fun!!!

Man, I wouldn't have been able to stay up that late.

ff.net has been having issues on and off. I know some people have been able to upload in the last day or two when they haven't been able to. I'd blame the site, if I were you.

I'm working on my data, while watching Star Wars: A new Hope.

Glad to know it's probably not me. My connection is slow, but I've never had that happen so often. I can't upload anything.

SW:A new hope huh! Sounds like a nice way to study.

Yeah, staying up all night isn't the smartest move I guess, but it was rather fun. :D

I'm still here at Derry's (mcalex) using her computer! We're having fun with her niece and yes, I never left! Woke up about 12.30.

Hehe, have fun cleaning the loos.... :)

Three hours sleep is soooo not enough!

Haven't worked up the energy for cleaning yet. It will be done though ...soon...sometime... :p

It really is me this time - although [livejournal.com profile] mcalex22 is looking over my shoulder. Will some people NEVER go home?

She 's now met my sister and my niece as well!

We just watched most of this week's Dr Who - of course it cut out at the climax and so I'm reburning it. Typical!

Ah geekdom! Gotta love it!

I'm sitting here trying to change my LJ layout using a tutorial. I'm currently somewhat stuck on step 2. *headesk* Yes so not a techno-wizard here. Awww and I'm missing out on more geekdom. Oh well.

You know, if she doesn't go home, it's not like you'd ever have to see each other in your BIG house. *grins*

I'm still here!!!! Look who's the psychofan now... (we were just talking about you know who and you know who else...)...

On the bright side, I'm exploring the big house! :D

How's the loos?

OK, so it may be the severe lack of sleep, but I can think of several answers or no answers to the first bit there. *confuzzled*

Ah, yes and I think my bathrooms are being cleaned tomorrow night, since I've barely left my room, except ot eat and rescue laundry. So lazy! I am now going to watch TV and then sleep. Yes, it's the simple things in life. :p

I just thought to go back to flexisquares and look up stuff there. Shall try again tomorrow or sometime with the now default layout. :p

Sounds like a really nice weekend!

I bought that BOBW convention dvd too, and I loved it. The guys seem to be so down-to-earth and friendly. Did you watch the Paul McGillion part where he was talking about his parents? He could have been talking about my parents! The similarity was frightening!

And yes, you're still beating me in the spam thing! *grumble, grumble!*
