Windows Movie Maker has decided to be a pain. Please help.
Until recently I could import all my AVI files for vidding. Now, files that I could previously import and vid with (episodes of things mostly), won't import.
I get this message: The file [file name here] cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.
So, download the codec, you say!
Yes, but I have the right codec. The files all play on Windows Media Player to prove it, so does anyone know why WMM is having issues all of a sudden? I also just dled the latest version of DivX to make sure I had all the latest codecs, restarted and it didn't help. :(
It is still importing some other random files that I have (also AVI format), so it's not a general importing problem.
Has anyone else had this problem before and know what the heck WMM is doing? I'm so frustrated right now.
EDIT: It's working again! Woo! Somewhere between rebooting the computer several times and playing with DivX settings, it started to work again. Yay!
