I thought I'd throw some ficrecs out...just to be different. *grins*
I just read a wonderful piece of angst that had my heart in little pieces and tears in my eyes. Yes it's that angsty. My poor woobie Rodney. While it says it's McKay/Sheppard, the story doesn't focus on that, it's more Rodney trying to cope with the ongoing stress and pressure of being who he is and coping with the expectations that are placed on him. *wanders off to put her heart back together*
No More Dreadful Punishment by Lacey McBain (McKay/Sheppard, Rating: R): “Carson’s too tired to notice when there are fewer pills than there were the previous visit, and Rodney’s careful enough that no one notices when he’s more upbeat than usual, more wired, more everything.”
Everyone also needs to read The Teacher's Pet series. The kid!John is just so believable and each of the team's reactions, especially Rodney's are just so beautiful. It's still a WIP, but I'm holding out for more in this series, because wow!
Um there are more I want to rec, but I have misplaced the links this evening. I'm too tired. I shall put them up later.

I'm hoping that Madelyn will write the next one soon. When the series first started, there was mention that there'd be a scene where John grows up to a 16yr old teen and has a crush on Rodney!
BTW, you sound refreshed from your trip - did you get much work done on the thesis?

Hmmmm not so sure about the teen crush. I loved Ronon's POV though. He's so cute in his clueless-ness and it just seemed so perfect. Then John snuggling into Rodney's bed was just adorable. What kid didn't do that when they were scared? :D
Um...no work on said thesis, but I enjoyed the break muchly, so it was worth it. It's always a little sad to come home to an empty house, but I'm all good. Did you see...I got me lots of hugs. I am a devious child. I now invent meme's for a passtime apparently, but don't tell anyone. *biggrin*
