I had such a cool birthday, with penguins from Billy,
the cute icon from Wannatee, all your gorgeous cake and well wishes, birthday messages from Charlie and crack!fic...oh and all the hugs!
I was overwhelmed with the presents...I only ever ask for hugs and this was amazing! Thanks for all the hugs too!
Well the real world treated me pretty nicely too. My gorgeous real life friends took me out to dinner and then invited themselves back to my place, where they unveiled a CAKE! Woot! More cake!
They got me gifts too! A lovely jewelry box and some nice smelling candles.
I then went home for the weekend. Friday night we (me, mum, dad, my big sis and bro in law) went to a comedy night. Loads of stand-up comedians and OMG funny! I laughed so hard I hurt. Such a good birthday present. I also got a scanpan brand Wok from my mum, so I'll have to start making some stirfry dishes.
I also caught up with one of my old highschool/uni buddies and we watched DVD's and ate junkfood. The perfect plan, if you ask me.
Oh and Mum and I went to see 'Brokeback Mountain'. No one would go with either of us, and so we went with each other. It really is well done. Handled nicely and the scenery and cinematography is amazing! I'm so glad we went to see it. I must admit, apart from the fact that it was about 'gay cowboys' I knew nothing about it, so I was a little surprised by the story. It was so sad! Poor little gay cowboys! I wanted to wrap them up in a big hug. Someone should make a 'woobie gay cowboy' icon, because that was totally how it left me feeling.
Yesterday, I spent going to the dentist, podiatrist and optometrist...no fun, but good to get done. Apparently see-through floaty thing that I keep seeing in my eye, is just that, a floaty thing! Weird huh! Apparently lots of people get them and it's just proteins that have broken down or something and they float about in the jelly bit of your eye. Damn annoying, but not harmful and probably won't go away. Oh well!
So, I went to the local club with my parents for a big steak dinner last night and got up at 5am to catch the bus this morning. Got back in time to get to work before lunch and it was back to the everyday.
Only bad thing about the whole weekend is I seem to have picked up my dad's cold. Bleh! For the first time in a very long time, I have a runny nose and a sore throat! *pours herself more tea* For some reason I always catch colds from my dad, but then he doesn't get sick often either.
Oh and I bought 'The Dark Crystal'...yep I'm still going back to childhood with the DVD's! Hee!
