Firstly, thankyou to
lightz474 for the lovely Christmas card full of sparkles. I received it 2 days ago and I just remembered I didn't thank you. *hugs*
Secondly, congratulations to both
derry667,
martoufmarty and all the others who won SGA vidding awards today (http://www.pink-martini.net/sg1awards/2005/winners.htm#a). Derry got SEVEN!! Wow! My flist is so talented.
Thirdly, I also want to point out that the community that
newkidfan was talking about setting up is now here. It's called
artword, so get over there and join. The idea is that two people work together to create a fic and a piece of fan art (vid, cartoon, icons, art etc.) that go together like a nice shiny boxset. The vids have to be trailers. Earlier she posted a vid and asked people to write a fic to accompany it, which is where my fic 'Memory in a touch' came from. I just love this idea and I know that just in my flist there are both vidders, icon makers and fic writers. Once the challenges start going up, please let me know if you want to have a go at entering them, because I'd love to have a go...I'm all excited!
...and now for some random notes on The Long Goodbye!
Yes I must admit the ep was cliched, yet I enjoyed it. I was saddened by the idiocy of how they tricked John into hosting the other conciousness. I just can't see it ever happening. John wouldn't let it happen and the others wouldn't let the two most senior members be out-of-action at once. ...but the action was generally funny and after 'The Tower' almost anything seemed good. This ep does mean that now (count 'em - McKay, Caldwell, Shep and Weir) FOUR leading characters have had their bodies taken over by another conciousness of some kind (and THREE have kissed while in said state)...plllleeease writers I mean really!!
...And yet I still enjoyed the whole Mr and Mrs Smith thing! *sigh* I guess I like a little action and Weir with a gun would never happen any other way, but it's actually quite sexy! She's never reminded me so much of Sigourney Weaver! (The hair these days is so Aliens!)
Since I've only watched the ep once and it was with three of us *squeeing* (fun, but distracting), I'll refrain from further comment until later, or unless someone wants to comment and get me thinking.
(If I was still numbering, I believe this would be point five :p)
Oh and I started watching HackersII tonight. I'm waiting impatiently for the second half to download, since my silly internet is once again throttled *frowny face*. HE HAS LOTS OF HAIR! David Hewlett with LOTS OF HAIR! OMG!...and he saves a puppy! *love* OK so it's a very 80's flick. I have no idea when it came out, but psychic, hairy David is still hot!! I shall post a few screencaps once I've got the whole thing. *frowns at download and wills it faster*
